On May 19, Tarrytown, New York, Regeneron (NASDAQ:REGN) announced that it has been named the winning bidder in the bankruptcy auction for leading human genetics and biotechnology company 23andMe Holding Co.
Regeneron Plans to Invest $256 Million ((Equivalent to 1.847 billion yuan) to acquire 23andMe's personal genome services®(PGS), Comprehensive Health and Research Services business line and its biobank and related assets, and allow 23andMe to continue providing all consumer genomic services without interruption. Subject to bankruptcy court and regulatory approvals and other customary closing conditions, the transaction is expected to be completed in the third quarter of 2025.

Regeneron intends to ensure compliance with 23andMe's consumer privacy policy and applicable laws regarding customer data processing. As the winning bidder, Regeneron is prepared to detail the intended use of customer data as well as existing privacy programs and security controls for review by the court-appointed independent customer privacy monitor and other stakeholders.

23andMe to Operate as a Wholly-Owned Direct or Indirect Subsidiary of Regeneron and Continue in Personal Genomics Services. Regeneron’s Acquisition Does Not Include 23andMe's Lemonaid Health Business. More Details on the Company’s Operational Plans Will Be Announced Upon Completion of the Transaction.
