China's First Uniform-Size Biomimetic Core-Shell Blank Microspheres VariSphere® for Uterine Fibroid Embolization Treatment Honored with Launch

On May 27, 2025, VariSphere®, China's first uniform-sized biomimetic core-shell blank microsphere for uterine fibroid embolization, successfully received approval from the National Medical Products Administration (NMPA).Breaking the boundaries of traditional microsphere indications, it can be used not only for liver cancer but also for multiple disease scenarios such as uterine fibroids and lung cancer, providing broad protection.

VariSphere® Uniform Particle Size Blank Microspheres, continuing the innovative "biomimetic core-shell" structure, exhibit excellent mechanical properties, enabling denser embolization. They can achieve precise peripheral embolization while offering broad-spectrum indications, applicable to hypervascular diseases such as liver cancer, uterine fibroids, and lung cancer, providing a safer and more efficient embolization solution.

Uniform Particle Size Design for Precise Embolization

Blank microspheres are mainly used in clinical applications to embolize tumor blood vessels, causing tumor ischemia, hypoxia, and necrosis. They can also be injected simultaneously with drugs, preventing rapid drug loss during embolization. Compared with traditional iodized oil drug emulsions, they can effectively improve short-term efficacy and tumor necrosis rates in patients and reduce the incidence of postoperative adverse reactions.
