Lilly and Camurus Enter $870M Collaboration for Long-Acting FluidCrystal® Incretin Therapies in Cardiometabolic Health

June 3, Camurus and Eli Lilly and CompanySigning cooperation and licensing agreements,Granting Eli Lilly the global exclusive rights for research, development, manufacturing, and commercialization of long-acting incretin products based on Camurus' FluidCrystal technology., for cardiometabolic health.

The agreement includes up to four proprietary drug compounds from Eli Lilly. Selected from GIP/GLP-1 receptor agonists, GIP/glucagon/GLP-1 receptor agonists, and options including amylin receptor agonists. This technology is expected to extend the dosing interval of Eli Lilly's GLP-1 class drugs, thereby improving patient compliance.

The partnership focuses on developing long-acting therapies based on Camurus' FluidCrystal® technology and Eli Lilly and Company's proprietary drug compounds.

Camurus is eligible to obtainUp to $870 million in potential development and sales milestone payments, along with mid-single-digit royalties.

The technology has been commercially and regulatory validated through market approvals and product sales in Europe, the United States, and Australia.Especially in the treatment of opioid dependence, Buvidal®, a product based on FluidCrystal® technology launched by Camurus, has been marketed in multiple countries, helping patients effectively overcome drug dependency.

Camurus AB is developing a once-a-month semaglutide injection using the technology, currently in Phase 1 clinical trials.
