Computation-Driven Innovative Drug R&D Provider

Small Molecule Candidate Drug Developer

June 12, 2025, XtalPi (XtalPi Holdings, XTALPI,2228.HK) announced the completion of the acquisition of the UK-based LiverpoolChiroChem (LCC) technology company, further enhancing XtalPi's "AI + robotics" intelligent autonomous experimentation platform's capabilities in chemical space exploration. This will better serve customers in the fields of new drug development, new materials discovery, and high-value chemicals both in China and internationally.
LCC Therapeutics was founded in 2014 at the University of Liverpool, UK, and has long been committed to the research and development of novel molecular design and synthesis technologies, particularly for new chiral molecules. The company's developed PACE(Parallel Automated Chiral Engine) technology platform, which combines AI software with automation technology, is capable of virtually screening target molecules from a chiral chemistry library containing hundreds of millions of molecules, and efficiently completing synthesis and proceeding to physical testing with the assistance of automated equipment. This platform has served several well-known multinational pharmaceutical companies.
At the same time, the company's long-term accumulated chiral chemical molecular entity library and database are globally leading in terms of molecular quality and diversity, providing high-quality data support for AI models exploring the chemical space of chiral molecules.
In addition, LCC Therapeutics has accumulated a complete technical solution in the field of high-throughput and low-volume molecular library construction, which complements the large-scale molecular library construction technology of XtalPi's intelligent autonomous experimentation platform.
Dr. Paul Colbon, Founder and CEO of LCC TherapeuticsSaid: "In 2020, the University of Liverpool's research group in the UK published their findings on AI chemical robotics on the cover of Nature magazine. Anthony Huxley (Head of Chemistry at the company) and I are delighted to see that this concept has now been widely applied in the industry. We look forward to working with XtalPi, using cutting-edge technologies such as AI and robotics combined with high-quality data, to explore a broader chemical space and help customers discover high-value molecules more quickly."

"At the same time, our Scientific Advisory Board (SAB), including Dr. Chris Swain and Dr. Stevan Djuric, is also looking forward to this collaboration — LCC's proud achievements in the field of chiral chemistry, if these innovative technologies such as AI and robotics can help serve pharmaceutical companies faster and better, it will accelerate the healing of more people."
Through strategic cooperation, incubation, joint research and development, mergers and acquisitions, etc., XtalPi's technical strength in the field of chemical space exploration continues to increase, and its ability to serve overseas customers has been further enhanced.
