Argo Biopharma for the treatment ofComplement-Mediated DiseasesNew Drug BW-40202 Completes First Dosing in Phase I Clinical Trial

Shanghai, China and Boston, USA——Argo Biopharma Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Argo Biopharma," or "the Company") announced on June 25, 2025, that its investigational small interfering RNA (siRNA) drug BW-40202 has completed the dosing of the first healthy subject in Phase I clinical trials. BW-40202 is a drug targeting complement factor B (CFB) for the treatment of complement-mediated diseases. This milestone was achieved at a clinical research center in Australia. Additionally, BW-40202 has received approval for new drug clinical trial (IND) from the National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) of China and will be advanced concurrently at clinical research centers in China.
BW-40202Is a targeted liverCFB mRNAThesiRNADrug, ThroughRNAInterference (RNAi) Mechanism, InhibitionCFB mRNAexpression, thereby reducing serumCFBProtein levels and inhibit the alternative complement pathwayDiameter (CAP) activity. In preclinicalIn the study,BW-40202Demonstrating excellent purity and stability, significantly reducing serumCFBProtein level, effectively inhibitCAPActivity, and has long-lasting effects and good safety. This first-in-human trial will evaluateBW-40202Safety in Healthy Subjects, Pharmacokinetics andChanges in BiomarkersPreclinical study data support the potential of this therapy as an innovative treatment for complement-mediated diseases.
"This milestone event has driven us to develop precision treatments for complement system diseases.RNAi"The Mission of the Therapy"Dr. Dongxu Shu, Co-founder and CEO of Argo BiopharmaSaid, "By silencing at the genetic levelCFB", we strive to provide targeted therapeutic solutions for patients with complement-mediated diseases that have high unmet medical needs."
