Thermo Fisher Scientific and Guangdong Sunshine Biopharma Announce Strategic Collaboration to Advance Cell and Gene Therapy

Through this collaboration, Guangdong Sansheng will rely on its R&D and production platform that meets international standards, combined with the full range of Gibco CTS products and technical advantages from Thermo Fisher Scientific, to jointly advance process development, analytical method development, and the construction of large-scale GMP production capabilities in the CGT field. This strategic cooperation will not only accelerate Guangdong Sansheng's technological breakthroughs in the CGT field but also provide industry partners with more efficient and reliable one-stop CDMO services, helping more innovative drugs reach clinical trials and the market.

This signing took place at Thermo Fisher Scientific's Customer Experience Center in Shanghai. After the signing ceremony, Lu Honghui (Head of Guangdong Sunsheng Pharmaceutical), Li Mengjie (Head of CDMO Business Development at Sunsheng Group), Xu Dan (Director of CDMO Business Development at Sunsheng Group), and others were invited to visit the Thermo Fisher Scientific Customer Experience Center laboratory. With introductions from application engineers and the FA team, they engaged in deeper communication and gained a better understanding of Thermo Fisher Scientific’s innovative technology platforms and products across various fields.

Focusing on four strategic areas: biologics, gene and cell therapy, consumer healthcare, and health management, providing full lifecycle services from preclinical development to commercial production. The CGT integrated platform offers complete solutions from upstream raw materials to end treatments: featuring scalable plasmid production capabilities (5L-100L fermenters with reserved space for 500L expansion), covering both research-grade and GMP standards, achieving high yield and low consumption through efficient purification processes; the concurrently developed mRNA platform supports the entire process from plasmid linearization, IVT reaction, large-scale bulk production to customized LNP formulation services; in the viral vector field, there is mature LVV packaging technology (with proprietary high-yield suspension-adapted 293 cell lines), and AAV scale production capabilities; comprehensive CAR-T cell preparation services are also provided along with the development and validation of testing methods for plasmids/mRNA/LVV/AAV/CAR-T/stem cells across all categories.
