This study enrolled 33 centers in France.5,223 patients,PatientThe average age was 65±11 years, and 55.4% had paroxysmal atrial fibrillation.- The operation lasted for 54±23 minutes. Acute pulmonary vein isolation was achieved in 5,211 patients (99.8%).
- The average number of PFA applications was 50±22, with 746 patients (14.3%) receiving more than 70 applications.
- 64.7% of patients underwent pulmonary vein isolation only (paroxysmal atrial fibrillation 82.7%, persistent atrial fibrillation 44.5%, long-standing persistent atrial fibrillation 26.6%).
- The most common sites for additional PFA ablation included: the posterior wall of the left atrium (1335 cases, 25.6%), the roof of the left atrium (999 cases, 19.1%), and the mitral isthmus (514 cases, 9.8%).
- Major complications occurred in 50 patients (0.96%), and no esophageal complications or symptomatic phrenic nerve paralysis were reported after discharge.
Research Conclusion
In this nationwide prospective registry study, despite significant variations in the number of patients treated across centers, usingFarapulseAtrial fibrillation ablation demonstrates good safety and immediate effectiveness.
