July 2, 2025XtalPi2228.HK) Announced the completion ofPre-Seed Round Investment in Foundry BioSciences, a Technology Platform Empowering Anti-Aging Product and Drug Development through Generative AI Protein Design. The total amount of this round of financing is tens of millions of RMB, led by XtalPi, with participation from multiple professional investment institutions such as Taihill Venture and Yae Capital. The proceeds will be mainly used for the continuous upgrading of the technology platform, the expansion of the core team, and the advancement of industrial transformation for multiple ongoing research projects, further promoting the cutting-edge application of AI-driven protein language models in longevity science.

Foundry BioSciences is a biotechnology company focused on AI-driven protein design and innovation at the intersection of longevity science. Founded by cross-disciplinary scientists and technical experts from MIT, Princeton University, and Harvard University, the company is committed to building next-generation protein language models through deep learning technology, empowering protein function prediction, sequence optimization, and end-to-end biomolecular design. The team's research achievements have been widely applied in core areas closely related to human healthspan, such as immune regulation, metabolic health, neuroprotection, and tissue repair and regeneration. Leveraging globally leading protein evolution algorithms, Foundry BioSciences is developing a digital platform spanning from sequence discovery to efficacy validation, enabling rapid sequence design of anti-aging target proteins and efficient product iteration. This facilitates the development of high-quality and effective anti-aging drugs, supplements, and cosmetic active ingredients.

Kaiyi Jiang, Co-founder and Chief Scientist of Foundry BioSciences, earned his Ph.D. in Biological Engineering from MIT at the age of 26 under the mentorship of CRISPR gene-editing experts Omar Abudayyeh and Jonathan Gootenberg from the Zhang Lab, as well as immunology and bioengineering expert Michael Birnbaum. During his doctoral studies, Dr. Jiang focused on developing RNA-guided systems, protein engineering, and synthetic biology technologies. As the first author, his research achievements include the first eukaryotic RNA-guided DNA nuclease, highly sensitive mammalian cell state sensors, and a best-in-class AI-guided few-shot protein engineering model. These accomplishments have been published in top-tier journals such as *Nature*, *Science*, *Nature Biotechnology*, and *Nature Materials*, leading to six international patents and the creation of three startups. Kaiyi Jiang currently holds a faculty position in the Department of Bioengineering at Princeton University, making him the youngest professor in the department’s history to be hired without postdoctoral training. He also serves as the first Amgen Science Fellow, working under Professor Howard Chang to design novel therapeutic modalities using deep learning and synthetic biology. His work has received numerous accolades, including MIT Technology Review's Innovators Under 35 Asia Pacific and the MIT Wishnok Prize.

After this round of financing, Foundry BioSciences will deepen its collaboration with XtalPi, leveraging advanced achievements in biology and protein design alongside XtalPi’s high-throughput synthesis and automated experimental capabilities. Together, they will build an end-to-end pipeline platform for anti-aging therapies and products. This platform will cover R&D scenarios ranging from the design and screening of functional ingredients, customized formulation development, to the creation of oral/topical anti-aging consumer products and Phase I/II clinical innovative therapies. By seamlessly integrating "algorithm-driven" approaches with "automated experimental validation," this highly efficient R&D model will significantly reduce the time and cost from theory to product/therapy. The collaboration aims to continuously deliver consumer-grade solutions and breakthrough biopharmaceuticals for the global anti-aging market, benefiting a broader population.

XtalPi Holdings Limited Chairman Shu-Hao Wen stated:"The science of longevity is the ultimate proposition concerning the essence of human health. The Foundry BioSciences team, with its deep scientific insights and exceptional industry execution capabilities, is reshaping the paradigm of protein design through generative AI technology, injecting innovative power into this blue ocean market. As an investor and strategic partner, XtalPi will engage in deep collaboration with Foundry BioSciences to build a cutting-edge algorithm and automated experimental closed-loop R&D foundation, accelerating the transformation of longevity targets, which are difficult to achieve through traditional R&D, into globally defining outcomes."

Chai Jingjing, Co-founder and CEO of Foundry BioSciencesGraduated from Harvard University, and has been engaged in the investment and incubation of AI + biotechnology projects for many years. She stated:"Foundry BioSciences was established with the mission of driving scientific breakthroughs that are closely related to human health and lifespan out of the lab and into industrial application, leveraging cutting-edge AI protein language models. We are honored to receive support from XtalPi and several professional investment institutions, which not only affirms our technological approach but also provides a solid foundation for continuously iterating our platform, expanding our team, and accelerating industrial transformation. We look forward to collaborating with more ecosystem partners to unlock the potential of AI-empowered longevity technology."
