BaxHTN is a multicenter, randomized, double-blind, placebo-controlled, parallel-group Phase III study designed to evaluateBaxdrostat For the uncontrolled use of two different antihypertensive drugs in treatmentPatients with hypertension and using three or more different antihypertensive drugs(One of which is a diuretic)Safety, Tolerability, and Efficacy in Patients with Resistant Hypertension.

The results showed,Compared with the placebo group, two doses of Baxdrostat(2 mg and 1 mg)At 12 weeks on averageSignificantly reduced mean sitting systolic blood pressure (SBP). The study also successfully achieved all secondary endpoints, overallTolerability and safety were good. Specific data willAt the European Society of Cardiology in August 2025 (ESC) Announcement.

Baxdrostat is aHighly Selective Aldosterone Synthase InhibitorCan inhibit the CYP11B2 enzyme that catalyzes the final step of aldosterone synthesis from cholesterol(Also known as aldosterone synthase), thereby inhibiting the synthesis of aldosterone to reduce its levels without lowering cortisol levels. In February 2023, AstraZeneca acquired for $1.8 billion.CinCor, which has acquired the product. Sharon Barr, Executive Vice President of Biopharmaceuticals R&D at AstraZeneca, said: "We are very excited about the results of the BaxHTN Phase III clinical trial, which showed a significant reduction in systolic blood pressure that was both statistically and clinically meaningful. These findings strongly demonstrate that baxdrostat, by targeting aldosterone dysregulation, has the potential to address a key unmet need and bring a completely new mechanism to this field, which has seen little innovation in over two decades."
