Traditional antibody screening processes are highly reliant on experience-driven and low-throughput experiments, typically taking several months or longer to identify potential antibody candidates, with a relatively low success rate. Particularly in scenarios requiring multi-parameter optimization (e.g., affinity, specificity, stability), conventional methods struggle to meet the dual demands of high precision and efficiency, significantly limiting the speed and quality of early-stage antibody drug development.

This strategic cooperation between the two parties will leverage the series of advantages in high-throughput and high-precision single-cell functional screening offered by the OptoBot® series of high-throughput cell screening instruments developed by Zhuitong Bio. Combined with BioMap's underlying technological strengths in large AI models and its deep understanding of developing high-throughput dry-wet closed-loop AI systems, they will develop an antibody screening AI Agent system that integrates AI technology and high-throughput equipment technology. By deeply integrating AI models with wet-lab closed-loop capabilities, they aim to create a seamless workflow to identify promising antibody drug candidates with unprecedented speed and accuracy, thereby providing crucial support for new drug development.

The OptoBot® series developed by BioMap utilizes advanced optoelectronic tweezers (OET) technology to rapidly separate, culture, and functionally analyze tens of thousands of antibody-secreting plasma cells in parallel. This process generates massive, high-quality datasets on the functional characteristics of individual cells, which are highly valuable for AI models. Each single cell can be monitored in real time for its secretion capacity, functional intensity, and phenotypic behavior under physical manipulation, ultimately forming a detailed data matrix that includes temporal dynamics and multidimensional metrics. Compared with traditional bulk-level screening data, this type of data is more interpretable and offers greater modeling value, providing a new foundation for the training and inference of AI models.

BioMap's advanced AI agent system, built on its self-developed life science foundational large model xTrimo, possesses a series of capabilities such as interpreting equipment data, scheduling and planning tasks, and empowering individual devices with industry data and AI capabilities. Combined with the advanced equipment from Zhuguang Bio, it can provide industry customers with enhanced capabilities in graph construction, protein function prediction, and candidate optimization. Specifically, the AI agent can not only quickly identify, cluster, and predict the functions of single-cell data but also automatically adjust and optimize screening strategies by scheduling different sub-models. It can also provide real-time feedback of experimental data to the AI model, continuously improving model performance and achieving intelligent linkage and iterative optimization between data and equipment.

In this collaboration, BioMap will develop an efficient closed-loop intelligent system that spans "data generation - intelligent model prediction - experimental validation," based on the complex single-cell functional data generated by the high-throughput platform of LightChaser Bio. This will further empower advanced equipment and significantly improve the overall efficiency and success rate of antibody screening. The goal is to achieve order-of-magnitude improvements in multiple key tasks, such as shortening the screening cycle, increasing hit rates, and significantly enhancing the ability to identify low-abundance functional antibodies. This system is also expected to become the world’s first antibody discovery platform capable of achieving "minute-level real-time modeling + week-level candidate confirmation," redefining the development pace and efficiency standards of the industry.

Currently, this AI agent has received trial intentions from multiple industry clients and will soon be deployed at BioMap's Suzhou High-Throughput Experiment Center to provide experimental services to global customers.

CEO of BioMap, Dr. Hainan Xie"We are very excited to partner with BioMap, a pioneer in the field of AI for life sciences. Our OptoBot® platform is designed to generate functional single-cell data at an unprecedented scale and depth.
