On July 26, the large-scale theme event "2025 China·AI Gala" organized by the Central Radio and Television Station to promote the development of the artificial intelligence industry was launched in Xuhui District, Shanghai. This gala is deeply linked with the World Artificial Intelligence Conference held from July 26 to 28, exploring creative themes from a global perspective, presenting an authoritative and international, entertaining and visually impressive high-standard gala to the audience. The event also announced the 10 "2025 AI Figures of the Year," showcasing the latest practices, rich achievements, and broad prospects in China's artificial intelligence field.



BrainCo Founder and CEO Han Bicheng Recognized as "2025 AI Personality of the Year" for Innovative Exploration in Brain-Computer Interface.Also receiving the award were nine other tech professionals from various cutting-edge fields: Wang Xingxing, Chen Ning, Chen Weiliang, Zhang Peng, Zhou Jingren, Jiang Daxin, Xia Lixue, Peng Zhihui, and Dai Wenyuan. Their innovative work spans frontier areas such as large models, embodied intelligence, healthcare, and chips, collectively forming the backbone of China's artificial intelligence industry.

"The 2025 AI Personality of the Year" was jointly selected by a recommendation committee consisting of more than 100 authoritative experts, including academicians, scientists, economists, entrepreneurs, well-known investors, and chief editors of mainstream media, inLiu Daxiang, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and professor at Beihang University; Zheng Weimin, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and professor in the Department of Computer Science at Tsinghua University; Wang Jian, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and director of Zhejiang Laboratory; Yang Huayong, academician of the Chinese Academy of Engineering and head of the College of Engineering at Zhejiang University; Tan Weihong, academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences and founding director of the Hangzhou Institute of Medicine, Chinese Academy of Sciences; Guo Yike, academician of the Hong Kong Academy of Engineering Sciences and provost of the Hong Kong University of Science and Technology; Wang Tianmiao, honorary director of the Robotics Institute at Beihang University and president of the Zhizhao Institute in Zhongguancun; Liu Qing, director of the National Technology Innovation Center of the Yangtze River Delta; Qi Yuan, distinguished professor at Fudan University and director of the Shanghai Institute of Artificial Intelligence; Dai Minmin, party committee deputy secretary and president of Shanghai State-owned Capital Investment Co., Ltd.

 

Such an award presentation lineup reflects the torch-passing of China's scientific research endeavors, with the older generation of scientists and young researchers, including Han Bicheng, jointly writing a new chapter in the development of artificial intelligence in China. Academician Liu Daxiang, aged 88, remarked, "Seeing so many young faces makes me feel assured that our scientific research cause will continue to thrive."


The grand event also featured a striking performance — Zhou Jian, the R&D testing and product experience officer of BrainCo, performed "Jasmine Flower" on stage with a humanoid robot. The bionic fingertips "bloomed" under the stage lights, allowing the audience to truly appreciate the beauty of human-machine collaboration.


The theme of this year's盛典 (Grand Ceremony) is "Mutual AI, Mutual Growth," focusing on the "Artificial Intelligence+" initiative. The release of the "2025 AI Person of the Year" not only showcases China's innovative vitality in the field of artificial intelligence but also conveys the confidence and potential of China's technological strength in global competition. At the ceremony, Han Bichen shared his vision for the intelligent landscape of 2050: "Empower every brain, making thoughts the new command." In the next 25 years, brain-computer interfaces will not only be a breakthrough in medical welfare but also a new bridge for human-machine integration.


Other "2025 AI Figures of the Year" also shared their visions for the future: Wang Xingxing hopes to "let China's AI robots spread like wildfire and lead the future with intelligence"; Zhou Jingren stated "let artificial intelligence light up every corner of the digital era, just like water, electricity, and coal"; Peng Zhihui proposed "let Chinese robots define the world's embodied paradigm." These visions collectively outline a future landscape of human-machine symbiosis and mutual growth through AI, showcasing the foresight and confidence of China's young tech innovators on the global AI stage.
