Abbott Launches MitraClip G5 and TriClip G5: Next-Generation Transcatheter Edge-to-Edge Repair Systems for Mitral and Tricuspid Regurgitation

Indicated for percutaneous treatment of severe symptomatic mitral regurgitation (MR≥3+) caused by organic mitral valve disease [degenerative MR], in patients assessed by the heart team as having a contraindication to mitral valve surgery due to high risk. The patient's existing comorbidities must not affect the expected benefits of the mitral regurgitation reduction procedure.

Applicable for improving the quality of life and functional status of patients with severe tricuspid regurgitation who still have symptoms after drug optimization treatment. Patients must be evaluated by a multidisciplinary cardiac team as meeting the following criteria: having moderate or higher surgical risk; being clinically suitable for transcatheter leaflet edge-to-edge repair; and expected to reduce the severity of tricuspid regurgitation to moderate or lower.
