On July 22, a "major discussion" and "major collaboration" on brain-computer interface technology took place in Nanjing, Jiangsu. On that day, hundreds of experts and scholars from the fields of government, industry, academia, research, and medicine gathered together at the Brain-Computer Interface Industry Development Conference hosted by the Jiangsu Provincial and Nanjing Municipal People's Governments to discuss cutting-edge technological innovations and initiate a new chapter of industrial cooperation.

Brain-computer interface technology, as one of the key technologies in the "brain science and brain-like research" field prioritized for development in the "14th Five-Year Plan" outline, is vividly hailed as the "information superhighway" between the brain and external devices. Practically speaking, this technology can significantly improve the quality of life for patients with severe motor disorders or other neurological diseases, demonstrating immense developmental potential.

The speech session was introduced by Zhou Hongbo, Member of the Jiangsu Provincial Party Committee and Secretary of the Nanjing Municipal Party Committee. Nanjing has a first-mover advantage in the research of brain-computer interface technology and industrial cultivation. Based on these foundations and conditions, Nanjing will implement the Brain-Computer Interface Industry Innovation Breakthrough Action Plan towards 2030, accelerate the deep integration of government, industry, academia, research, and medicine, and focus on building a highland for the brain-computer interface industry in China and even globally.

The conference released a series of significant research achievements in Nanjing's brain-computer interface industry, with many technologies making their public debut.

The Brain-Computer Interface Industry Alliance of Jiangsu Province Has Officially Been Established

Six leading hospitals in Nanjing, including Jiangsu Provincial People's Hospital, Nanjing Brain Hospital, and Gulou Hospital, signed the "Ethical Collaborative Review Agreement for Brain-Computer Interface Clinical Research" at the conference.This is the first regional ethical collaboration mechanism for brain-computer interfaces in China.By adopting a model where the leading center uniformly assesses risks and participating centers respond quickly, the ethical review time for multi-center research has been reduced to 3-5 working days, effectively solving the biggest bottleneck that restricts the efficiency of clinical trials.

At the meeting,Jiangsu Brain-Computer Interface Industry Alliance Officially EstablishedThe alliance brings together top universities such as Nanjing University and Nanhang, clinical giants like Jiangsu Provincial People's Hospital and Brain Hospital, as well as CETC No. 14 Research Institute.Medlander, Shanhai Medical and other leading companies in the industrial chain will integrate resources across the province to build a complete collaborative network covering the "materials - chips - algorithms - terminals" industrial chain; Gulou District and Qixia District of Nanjing City will respectively create the Jiangsu (Nanjing) Brain-Computer Intelligence Science and Technology Innovation Park and the Jiangsu Brain-Computer Interface Innovation Park.New IndustryGarden, promoting the clustered development of brain-computer interface enterprises.

In the future, Medlander will build a full product system of "neural decoding-peripheral stimulation-central regulation" based on core technologies such as digital cognitive diagnosis and treatment, central-peripheral synergistic regulation, multi-modal brain function and physiological parameter monitoring, combined with multi-modal information fusion algorithms and the construction of professional databases and artificial intelligence models.
