Recently, the Department of Cardiology at Shanghai Seventh People's HospitalDirector Lu YangUnder the leadership of,Professor Jiang Nianxin, Professor Jiang Bing, in collaboration with the anesthesia department and medical team, successfully applied ShineyoMedical's RhythPulse®Pulsed Field Ablation Catheter Successfully Performs Pulsed Field Ablation (PFA) for Two Patients with Atrial Fibrillation. This procedure is among the first batch in China to use ShineyoMedical's RhythPulse.®The clinical application of pulsed ablation marks a new breakthrough in the cardiology department of our hospital, which has mastered another safe, efficient, and precise interventional technology in the field of arrhythmia treatment. This achievement represents a significant advancement in the interventional diagnosis and treatment of cardiovascular diseases and comprehensive atrial fibrillation management capabilities.

Surgical Procedure

After a comprehensive preoperative evaluation, no significant abnormalities were found in the atrial structure of the two patients, and there was no thrombus in the left atrium, which met the indications for atrial fibrillation pulsed field ablation (PFA). After the patients and their families were fully informed and agreed, it was decided to perform RhythPulse.®Pulsed Electric Field Ablation Surgery.

Preoperative CT 3D reconstruction of the left atrium was performed to evaluate the anatomical morphology and ostial diameter of the pulmonary veins in detail. Based on the imaging measurements, ShineyoMedical's RhythPulse was selected.®The systematic guidewire model 20mm pulsed ablation catheter was used for mapping and ablation. The surgeries for both patients were performed under general anesthesia. The femoral vein was punctured to establish surgical access, mapping electrodes were placed, and the atrial septal puncture (with a slightly lower and anterior puncture site) was successfully completed under DSA guidance, establishing access to the left atrium. After completing angiography of the left and right pulmonary veins, the RhythPulse®The PFA catheter was delivered to the left upper pulmonary vein along the steerable sheath, and ablation was performed in the ostial and vestibule regions, successfully eliminating the pulmonary vein potentials and achieving isolation. Subsequently, ablation was carried out sequentially on the left lower, right upper, and right lower pulmonary veins, successfully completing bilateral pulmonary vein electrical isolation. The overall ablation process took approximately 40 minutes. The surgery proceeded smoothly without any intraoperative complications. The patient's vital signs remained stable, and they were safely returned to the ward post-operation.

The successful implementation of pulsed ablation surgery under general anesthesia marks another significant breakthrough for the cardiology department in the field of arrhythmia, especially in atrial fibrillation ablation and interventional treatment. It also demonstrates the strength of our hospital's multidisciplinary collaboration in ensuring the smooth execution of surgeries. Going forward, our hospital will continue to promote high-quality medical services to safeguard the health of residents in the district.

【ShineyoMedical RhythPulse®-PFA System】

ShineyoMedical's RhythPulse®-PFA System is the first approved Pulse Field Ablation (PFA) system in China that integrates multi-channel, large focal, and targeted ablation, mainly used for treating rapid arrhythmias such as drug-refractory and recurrent atrial fibrillation. Its core advantages include:

Large Focal Design:Using the world's first 10mm ring ablation catheter, a single discharge can cover a lesion area with a diameter of 10mm, increasing the ablation efficiency by more than three times compared to traditional technology.

Targeted Ablation Technology:Equipped with an intelligent contact detection module, it monitors the contact status between the electrode and myocardial tissue in real time, reducing the risk of hemolysis caused by ineffective discharges, and decreasing postoperative plasma free hemoglobin content by 50%.

Clinical Validation Excellence:In the clinical trial of 151 cases, the immediate success rate was 100%, and the success rate of atrial fibrillation treatment at 12 months post-operation reached 85.07%, achieving internationally leading standards.
