PDBio and JIUDIAN PHARMACEUTICAL Reach Cooperation on the Transfer of JIJ02 Gel, a New Peptide Drug for Acne Treatment
On August 25, 2025, Chengdu PDBio Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "PDBio") officially announced that it had reached a technology transfer agreement with JIUDIAN PHARMACEUTICAL (hereinafter referred to as "JIUDIAN") for a new peptide drug for acne treatment — JIJ02 Gel (formerly known as PD-DP-008 Gel). The total transaction amount of the agreement is 90 million yuan.
According to the "Technology Transfer Contract" signed by both parties, JIUDIAN PHARMACEUTICAL will acquire all the developed achievements and corresponding intellectual property rights of JIJ02 Gel, and obtain the exclusive rights for further development, production, and commercialization of the drug worldwide.
As a Class 1.1 innovative polypeptide drug, the active ingredient of JIJ02 Gel is derived from natural peptides found in frog skin secretions and is primarily indicated for the treatment of common acne vulgaris. Preclinical observational data show that this drug has a strong inhibitory effect on drug-resistant Propionibacterium acnes, with efficacy surpassing clindamycin, a commonly used clinical drug. Additionally, compared to existing marketed acne treatments, JIJ02 Gel demonstrates potential advantages such as reduced likelihood of inducing resistance and enhanced safety. Currently, there are no similar drugs of this type available on the market either in China or globally, giving it potential for differentiated competition.
In terms of R&D progress, JIJ02 Gel obtained clinical trial approval from the Center for Drug Evaluation (CDE) of the National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) on December 25, 2024, and has successfully entered Phase I clinical trials to date.

According to the agreement, PDBio will transfer all developed results and corresponding intellectual property rights of PD-DP-008 Gel to JIUDIAN PHARMACEUTICAL, with the total transaction amount of the cooperation agreement being 90 million yuan.
