Gelonghui August 29 | Johnson & Johnson said on Thursday that it had decided not to continue developing a combination therapy for arthritis patients due to the results of an interim trial failing to show sufficient efficacy. The company was studying the combination of its drug Nipocalimab with an anti-tumor necrosis factor-alpha (TNF-α) treatment, which helps block inflammation. In the interim trial, the combination therapy failed to demonstrate significantly greater efficacy compared to using anti-TNF-α therapy alone in patients with difficult-to-treat rheumatoid arthritis.
