Research shows

  • For patients with myocardial infarction complicated by cardiogenic shock, routine use of Impella CP can reduce the absolute mortality rate by 16.3% over 10 years compared to standard treatment.

  • As of the 10-year follow-up period, compared with the control group, the average survival time of Impella CP patients was extended by 600 days (95% CI: 235 – 966 days).

Executive Evaluation

"Long-term data from the DanGer Shock randomized controlled trial published today validated the initial findings, confirming the sustained and annually increasing survival benefits associated with the Impella CP."

DanGer Shock Clinical Study byInitiated by researchers, it is a long-termRandomized Controlled Trial (RCT), This StudyInBetween 2013 and 2023, 360 participants were enrolled across 14 centers in Denmark, Germany, and the United Kingdom. After a follow-up of up to ten years, it was found that:Impella CP CollectionBenefits Increase Over TimeIncreasing year by year, acceptance after ten years of surgeryThe absolute mortality rate of Impella CP patients decreased by 16.3% compared to the control group.Improved compared to the initial 6-month data---Early studies show that routine use of Impella CP can reduce absolute mortality risk by 12.7%.
Impella CPThe first mechanical circulatory support (MCS) device proven by randomized controlled trials to provide short-term and long-term survival benefits for patients with cardiogenic shock caused by ST-segment elevation myocardial infarction (STEMI).American College of Cardiology(ACC) andAmerican Heart Association (AHA) based onDanGer Shock Clinical Data, WillImpella Guidelines Recommendation Level Upgraded to Class 2a.

Impella CP
Impella is an interventional artificial heart assist device designed, developed, and manufactured by Johnson & Johnson. The device is retrogradely inserted into the aortic valve via the femoral artery.Used for cardiogenic shock, left ventricular unloading (in combination with ECOM), high-risk PCI treatment, ventricular tachycardia ablation, and right ventricular failure treatment.

ImpellaDeveloped based on the principle of the Archimedes screw pump from ancient Greek mathematician Archimedes, the rotation of the impeller can assist in generating forward blood flow, increasing cardiac output, peripheral tissue perfusion, and coronary artery blood flow.
