Small Molecule Therapy Developer

On September 4, in Colorado, Enveda, a clinical-stage biotechnology company that is pioneering the discovery and development of a new generation of small molecule drugs derived from the chemistry of life, announced three major milestones: the completion of a $150 million oversubscribed Series D financing round, the enrollment of the first patient in the Phase 1b clinical trial of the atopic dermatitis lead project ENV-294, and the appointment of Dr. Mikael Dolsten, former Chief Scientific Officer and President of Worldwide Research and Development at Pfizer, to its board of directors.
This round of financing was led by Premji Invest, with participation from new and existing investors Baillie Gifford, Kinnevik, Lingotto Investment Management, Peakline Partners, FPV, Socium Ventures, Dimension, Level Ventures, Henry Kravis, IA Ventures, and Lux Capital. Previously, Sanofi participated in the $150 million Series C financing completed in February, bringing the company's total funding to 5.$1.7 billion. ($175 Million Financing! Within just five years after seed funding, Enveda has expanded from a platform proof-of-concept to one of the fastest-growing tech-enabled biotech companies, advancing a fully owned, internally generated novel small molecule pipeline that now spans the entire clinical discovery spectrum. Enveda's rapid growth is driven by its proprietary chemical sequencing platform, the first to use machine learning and metabolomics systems to decode previously inaccessible chemistry within living systems.
Akshay Rai, Head of Health Technology and Biotechnology at Premji Invest, stated:"Enveda is proving that it is possible to generate novel, first-in-class small molecule therapies at unprecedented speed, scale, and efficiency. We believe there is a vast, untapped search space for new drugs, and Enveda has built a platform that translates the chemistry of life into treatments that could have a transformative impact on millions of patients worldwide. The team is translating breakthrough science into medicines at an extremely rare pace and is building a company that could become industry-defining."
Series D financing will advance multiple clinical programs into Phase 1b and Phase 2 trials, addressing diseases that affect over 100 million adults in the United States alone. The funds will also support new IND filings in the coming months, enabling the company to achieve key clinical milestones in areas such as atopic dermatitis, asthma, inflammatory bowel disease, and obesity.
Key Clinical Milestones Highlight the Power of a Unique Approach

Nearly half of oral medications are derived from molecules found in nature, but it is estimated that 99% of the chemical diversity in nature remains unexplored due to the complexity and cost of isolating, identifying, and characterizing individual compounds. Enveda has built one of the world's largest libraries of natural samples, making their chemical compositions searchable through artificial intelligence capable of analyzing thousands of molecules at once, as well as fully automated high-throughput laboratories mapping therapeutic properties. By putting billions of years of evolutionary wisdom into the hands of drug hunters for the first time, Enveda has accelerated the discovery of first-in-class drugs by more than four times, paving a faster and more precise path to transformative therapies.

Viswa Colluru, founder and CEO of Enveda, said:"At Enveda, we are decoding the chemical language of life. For billions of years, nature has been running the most complex R&D program on Earth, yet nearly all of its chemistry remains unexplored. By making this hidden language searchable and combining it with artificial intelligence, automation, and metabolomics, we are transforming the way drugs are discovered. We are building a generational company that changes how the world understands and uses the chemistry of life, delivering breakthroughs that can redefine medicine and transform industries."

Enveda now has 16 preclinical programs, more than ten candidate development programs, four IND-enabling programs, and one ongoing clinical program. This progress has been achieved in a shorter time than biotech companies typically require, as they usually take over seven years to bring their first new chemical entity into Phase 1 clinical trials.
ENV-294 is Enveda's leading program, a first-in-class orally available anti-inflammatory small molecule derived from nature, discovered entirely on its platform. This candidate represents a novel chemical class with a new mechanism of action. It has demonstrated best-in-disease preclinical efficacy akin to kinase inhibitors and steroids in inflammatory disease models, as well as safety comparable to biologics in toxicology studies. With JAK inhibitor-like efficacy and IL4/IL13-like safetyIn the Phase 1b trial for patients with moderate to severe atopic dermatitis, the Phase 1a trial in healthy volunteers was successful, where ENV-294 showed performance in patients.Showed good safety and tolerability, with no dose-limiting toxicity or serious adverse events. Other targets involveNLRP3/TL1A、TL1A、MRPGRX4、TGFβ、NRF2、Small molecule drugs such as MRGPRX2.
