Recently, the Department of Cardiology, Beijing Ditan Hospital, Capital Medical UniversityDirector Guan HaoTeam, under the multidisciplinary cooperation of the anesthesiology department and the catheterization laboratory intervention team, and with the guidance of Professor Ze Feng, successfully completed the first case in Beijing using RhythPulse, a product produced in China by ShineyoMedical.®-PFA Atrial Fibrillation Ablation: The entire procedure progressed smoothly with excellent results. The successful implementation of this new PFA technology marks a significant achievement in the treatment of arrhythmias for the Cardiology Department at Ditan Hospital.A Brand New Breakthrough at the Technical Level, and further showcasedThe Strong Strength of the Department in the Clinical Transformation and Application of Innovative Technologies, which brings a safer, more efficient, and more reliable treatment option for a wide range of patients with atrial fibrillation, especially those with underlying conditions and lower tolerance for traditional surgery, truly placing the maximum benefit of the patients as the top priority in treatment.

Patient Basic Information

The patient, a 51-year-old female, was admitted to the hospital due to "intermittent palpitations for more than half a year and dizziness for 3 days". She was diagnosed with: atrial fibrillation, hypertrophic cardiomyopathy, grade 2 hypertension (very high risk), and 11 other conditions. After thorough communication with the patient and her family, Director Guan Hao's team decided to adopt the latestPFA Ablation TechnologyIn order to treat atrial fibrillation, we strive to accurately solve the problem while reducing surgical risks and shortening operation time.

Surgical Procedure

The surgery was performed under general anesthesia, establishing access to the left atrium. The fixed-curve sheath was used to introduce ShineyoMedical RhythPulse.®Pulsed Field Ablation Catheter (SDF15mm), Construct a 3D anatomical model of the left atrium, perform pulsed field ablation on the right and left pulmonary veins and posterior wall BOX, using ShineyoMedical RhythPulse.®Pulsed Field Ablation Catheter: Substrate mapping was performed during sinus rhythm, and both the pulmonary veins and posterior wall were successfully isolated. No potential recovery was observed after the procedure, marking the successful completion of the surgery. The ablation procedure took only 20 minutes.

The successful implementation of pulsed ablation surgery under general anesthesia marks another significant breakthrough for the Cardiology Department in the field of arrhythmia, especially in atrial fibrillation ablation and interventional treatment. It also demonstrates the multidisciplinary collaboration and support capabilities of Beijing Ditan Hospital, Capital Medical University, in ensuring the smooth execution of surgeries. Director Guan Hao stated that our hospital will continue to promote high-quality medical services to safeguard the health of residents in the district.

Department Introduction

Beijing Ditan Hospital, affiliated with Capital Medical University, is the main hospital of the National Center for Infectious Diseases. As an affiliate of Capital Medical University, it boasts profound heritage and steadfastly follows the path of "specialized characteristics, comprehensive development." It has established a leading cluster of disciplines in the field of infectious diseases both internationally and within China, while also vigorously building a comprehensive discipline system that includes distinctive and collaborative departments such as cardiology, neurology, surgery, and critical care medicine.

Among them, the Department of Cardiovascular Medicine, as a key discipline that the hospital has prioritized for development, has seen comprehensive enhancement and rapid progress since the introduction of the academic leader from Fuwai Hospital in 2023. In 2024, it was successfully approved as a "National Key Specialty." The department covers minimally invasive treatments for various diseases, including coronary heart disease, arrhythmia, hypertension, heart failure, valvular heart disease, congenital heart disease, peripheral arterial stenosis, and aortic dissection. It has accumulated extensive experience in several subspecialties such as coronary intervention, electrophysiological pacing, structural heart disease, cardiac critical care, and the treatment of cardiovascular patients with co-existing infectious diseases, achieving remarkable results.

The Department of Cardiology adheres to the concept of "patient-centered" and is committed to providing comprehensive, integrated, and full-process medical services for patients with cardiovascular diseases, including medication, intervention, rehabilitation guidance, and health management. Through the medical model of "small specialty, large integration," it aims to enhance service quality and efficiency, striving to offer patients a better and more efficient service experience.

【ShineyoMedical RhythPulse®-PFA System】

ShineyoMedical's RhythPulse®-PFA System is the first approved Pulse Field Ablation (PFA) system in China that integrates multi-channel, large focal, and targeted ablation, primarily used for treating drug-refractory and recurrent atrial fibrillation and other types of rapid arrhythmias. Its core advantages include:

Large Focal Spot Design:Using the world's first 10mm ring ablation catheter, a single discharge can cover a lesion area with a diameter of 10mm, increasing the ablation efficiency by more than three times compared to traditional technology.

Targeted Ablation Technology:Equipped with an intelligent contact detection module, it monitors the contact status between the electrode and myocardial tissue in real time, reducing the risk of hemolysis caused by ineffective discharges, and decreasing postoperative plasma free hemoglobin content by 50%.

Excellent Clinical Validation:In a clinical trial involving 151 cases, the immediate success rate was 100%, and the success rate for atrial fibrillation treatment at 12 months post-operation reached 85.07%, achieving an internationally leading standard.
