Wukong Insurance Lands $8.8 Million In Financing
Wukong Insurance has just landed around 8.8 million dollar financing from 58 Group, Yee Pay and Plum Ventures. This round of funds will improve Wukong Insurance’s health insurance business with a better management system.
Founded in August 2015, Wukong Insurance is an Internet insurance customized platform, its main business includes life insurance, auto insurance and real estate insurance. Right now, Wukong Insurance is building a crowdfunding platform to combat cancer. This crowdfunding is for anyone age 0-75, the monthly payment is less than 10 RMB, and if the user gets cancer, the crowdfunding would give the customer 300,000 RMB maximum to pay for the medical bills.
The goal of Wukong crowdfunding is to help low-income people to avoid expensive medical bills due to their cancer treatment.
"we realized that improvement of people's insurance security level cannot rely solely on the national medical insurance system. Entrepreneurs can improve the overall level of insurance security level through technology," chairman of Wukong Insurance Zhihua Chen said.
