On September 15, the 50-day countdown to the opening of the eighth China International Import Expo began. Some exhibitors have "teased" their participation plans and first-release products for this year.
"The CIIE is an important bridge connecting global innovation with the Chinese market. Over the past seven years, relying on this open platform, Medtronic has upgraded from being an 'exhibitor' to an 'investor.' Entering the eighth year, we look forward to continuing to leverage the spillover effects of the CIIE, making more medical scientific and technological achievements benefit patients worldwide." Said Gu Yushao, Global Senior Vice President of Medtronic and President of Greater China.
Gu Yushao revealed that this year, Medtronic will focus on the theme of "Exploring the Future of Medical Technology," bringing more than a hundred products.Innovative HealthcareTech products and solutions debut. The six first-exhibited products this year signify the potential for upgrading "AI + healthcare" in clinical application scenarios. Among them, Medtronic's Inceptiv, the world’s first closed-loop rechargeable spinal cord neurostimulation system making its Asia-Pacific debut, was named one of the most groundbreaking innovations of 2024 by TIME magazine. This sleek and compact system can "listen to the body's signals," sensing changes in spinal cord bio-signals during different movements and automatically adjusting stimulation in real time, providing chronic pain patients with a more consistent solution.
Medtronic introduced that the five China-premier exhibits collectively showcased Medtronic's cutting-edge intelligent breakthroughs in the diagnosis and treatment of heart-related diseases. Among them, the latest "black technology" in the field of arrhythmia treatment—the Affera Mapping and Ablation System—is an unprecedented "aircraft carrier" in the electrophysiology field. With the support of artificial intelligence technology, doctors can use this "one-stop integrated platform" to complete the entire process from discovering heart problems, precisely locating lesions, to implementing treatment and confirming results.
SCHOTT Group, a German company known as the "King of Glass," is participating in the China International Import Expo (CIIE) for the eighth consecutive year. This year, SCHOTT has officially integrated natural quartz glass into its specialty materials portfolio, strengthening its global presence in high-performance specialty materials for the semiconductor industry and continuously supporting the advancement of computational power in the semiconductor sector. Quartz glass plays a crucial role in chip manufacturing as a key material for microchip production, capable of withstanding temperatures over a thousand degrees Celsius while offering excellent chemical purity, inertness, and electrical insulation. The eighth CIIE will mark SCHOTT's first public showcase of this technology integration in the Chinese market.
The reporter of The Paper learned at the same time that SCHOTT will also display ultra-thin flexible glass applied in the field of space photovoltaics at the 8th CIIE, with a thickness of less than 70 microns.
