As the autumn wind delivers its message, efforts to restore vitality are underway. Recently, Beijing Anzhen Hospital, Capital Medical UniversityProfessor Ma Changsheng's TeamThe Core BackboneProfessor Xiaoxia LiuSuccessful application of RhythPulse, independently developed by ShineyoMedical (hereinafter referred to as "ShineyoMedical").®PFA Pulsed Field Ablation System was used to perform Pulsed Field Ablation (PFA) on a patient with paroxysmal atrial fibrillation, successfully achieving bilateral pulmonary vein isolation. The entire ablation procedure lasted only 20 minutes. This is ShineyoMedical's RhythPulse.®-The debut of the PFA system at Beijing Anzhen Hospital after its market launch in China.

Surgical Plan——Keen Insight, Prudent Until the End

Patient, 35-year-old male, chief complaint of recurrent palpitations over the past 21 months. Symptoms described as transient episodes lasting 20-30 minutes, worsening with exercise, emotional fluctuations, or physical fatigue, accompanied by shortness of breath and dizziness, significantly impacting daily work and life. Diagnosed with "paroxysmal atrial fibrillation" via Holter (24-hour ambulatory ECG). Young patient, short disease duration, preoperative echocardiography showed no significant left atrial enlargement and ruled out thrombosis. The expert team from the Arrhythmia Ward One at Anzhen Hospital, considering the safety of the patient’s lower limb vessels, the operational difficulty of small-diameter pulmonary vein catheters, and the need for rapid postoperative recovery and return to work, after careful consultation with the patient's family, decided to use the domestically produced 10mm circular large focal RhythPulse.®Pulse ablation catheters were used to treat patients.

The catheter tip is a 10mm ring electrode, compatible with the patient's pulmonary vein anatomy, enabling rapid isolation at the ostium and vestibule, significantly reducing procedure time. The shaft, centered in the ring, ensures full contact of the entire array, equipped with unidirectional 180.°The adjustable curved rod greatly enhances the smoothness of operation. It utilizes the latest bipolar biphasic pulsed electric field technology internationally as the ablation energy, inducing apoptosis in abnormally excited target myocardial cells through precisely controlled high-voltage electric pulses, offering excellent safety for adjacent tissues. The treatment process does not rely on thermal injury, significantly reducing the likelihood of postoperative pulmonary vein stenosis, making it particularly friendly for younger patients.

Surgical Procedure——Precise Treatment, Effective Cure

Surgery inProfessor Ma Changsheng and Professor Liu Xiaoxia's TeamThe procedure officially began under the guidance. Under local anesthesia, a transseptal puncture was performed via femoral vein access, and a left atrial access was successfully established using an 8.5Fr fixed-curve electrophysiology sheath.RhythPulse®-PFA10mm Circular Ablation CatheterPaired with a three-dimensional electrophysiological mapping system, modeling and mapping of the left atrium and pulmonary veins were performed. The operator reported that the tip had sufficient contact with the myocardial tissue, smooth operation, and clear electrical signals. Subsequently, according to the anesthesia plan, the local anesthesia parameter mode was selected to precisely and efficiently complete the isolation of the pulmonary vein ostium and vestibule portions. Pacing verification achieved bidirectional block, and no electrical signal reappearance was observed until the end of the procedure. The entire PVI process...Only took 20 minutes, saving 2-3 times the duration compared to traditional thermal ablation surgery. The patient's vital signs remained stable throughout the procedure, with no significant pain. Postoperative bedside ultrasound showed no abnormalities.

Postoperative Interview - Innovation and Self-research, a Promising Future

The arrhythmia team of Beijing Anzhen Hospital, Capital Medical University, as a pioneer that has always led electrophysiology procedures in China, focuses on RhythPulse originally developed by ShineyoMedical.®-PFA Pulsed Field Ablation System Received High Praise.

Professor Ma ChangshengShineyoMedical's innovative design of the circular ablation catheter is equipped with a minimum ablation loop of 10mm. This design can balance the rapid isolation of pulmonary veins with the design of ablation lines in the left atrium, greatly improving the accuracy of ablation targets. It is particularly suitable for operations in complex anatomical areas.

Professor Xiaoxia LiuPoint out: "RhythPulse®-The PFA system perfectly inherits the advantages of pulse technology, with outstanding surgical efficiency. The short burst discharge potential disappears immediately, and no leakage points have been found upon verification. From modeling to the completion of ablation, the overall process is smooth and straightforward, significantly shortening the learning curve and operation time. Meanwhile, ShineyoMedical, as a Chinese domestic company, focuses on the pain points of clinical applications, optimizes parameter design, and supports the use of local anesthesia mode, reducing the risks of anesthesia and surgery for patients. This is a very promising new technology for atrial fibrillation ablation."

【ShineyoMedical RhythPulse®-PFA System】

ShineyoMedical's RhythPulse®-PFA System is the first approved Pulse Field Ablation (PFA) system in China that integrates multi-channel, large focal, and targeted ablation, mainly used for treating drug-refractory and recurrent atrial fibrillation and other rapid arrhythmias. Its core advantages include:

Large Focal Spot Design:Using the world's first 10mm ring ablation catheter, a single discharge can cover a lesion area with a diameter of 10mm, improving the ablation efficiency by more than three times compared to traditional technology.

Targeted Ablation Technology:Equipped with an intelligent contact detection module, it monitors the contact status between the electrode and myocardial tissue in real time, reducing the risk of hemolysis caused by ineffective discharges, and decreasing postoperative plasma free hemoglobin content by 50%.

Clinical Validation Excellence:In the clinical trial of 151 cases, the immediate success rate was 100%, and the success rate of atrial fibrillation treatment at 12 months post-operation reached 85.07%, achieving internationally leading standards.
