China Resources Group Hosts 'AI + Traditional Chinese Medicine' Innovation Symposium

On September 17, an "AI + Traditional Chinese Medicine" Innovation Seminar hosted by the Group's Science and Technology Innovation Department and organized by CR JIANGZHONG was held in Nanchang. Han Yuewei, Vice General Manager of the Group, attended the meeting. Participants included relevant leaders from the Group’s Science and Technology Innovation Department, CR SANJIU, CR Double-Crane, and CR JIANGZHONG; key personnel from the Group’s Strategy Management Department, Intelligence and Digitalization Department, as well as Dong-E-E-Jiao, KPC Pharmaceuticals, and Tasly; and expert teams from XtalPi, with over 50 attendees in total.

During the conference, Ma Jian, CEO of XtalPi, shared the technological frontiers and industry trends of AI-driven drug discovery as well as XtalPi’s technical expertise. Yang Ming, Director of the National Key Laboratory for the Creation of Modern Traditional Chinese Medicine (TCM) based on Classic Prescriptions, introduced the progress in the construction of national key laboratories and the exploration of artificial intelligence applications. Representatives from CR SANJIU, Double-Crane, and Tasly respectively shared their experiences and insights on TCM innovation and R&D. In the breakout discussion sessions, participants focused on the strategic opportunities and development pathways for artificial intelligence to empower TCM, engaging in in-depth discussions. They agreed that artificial intelligence has broad application scenarios in standardized TCM cultivation, prescription process screening, quality control, component analysis, mechanism research, intelligent manufacturing, and more. In the future, they will jointly explore and promote the application of artificial intelligence in the creation of modern TCM.

Vice General Manager Han Yuewei stated that artificial intelligence is an important driving force in the new round of technological revolution and industrial transformation. As the leading unit in the construction of the traditional Chinese medicine (TCM) industry chain and the National Key Laboratory for the Creation of Modern TCM based on Classical Prescriptions, China Resources (CR) must accelerate the innovative application of artificial intelligence technology in TCM research and development, production, and other aspects. It should build a modern TCM R&D tool system and standards system, form a new paradigm for TCM R&D, and effectively play a leading role in TCM innovation as a central enterprise.
