Today, AusperBio: a clinical-stage innovative drug company focused on the independent innovation and development of targeted delivery small nucleic acid drugs with the core goal of "achieving clinical cure for chronic hepatitis B," announced the completion of a US$63 million Series B2 financing round, equivalent to approximately RMB 450 million.

This round of financing was led by Qiming Venture Partners in collaboration with globally renowned industry investment institutions. Multiple top-tier investment firms in China, including Hancorn Capital, CDH VGC, Originn Capital, Sherpa Healthcare Partners, and Origin Capital, also participated. This marks AusperBio's second successful financing round in 2025, bringing the company's total funding for the year to over $1.13 billion.

The funds raised in this round will be mainly invested in the core development areas of AusperBio, focusing on three major directions:

  • 1. Accelerate the clinical trial process of the core product —— AHB-137, an innovative antisense oligonucleotide (ASO) drug for achieving clinical cure of chronic hepatitis B, including the Phase III clinical trial conducted in China, the Phase II clinical trial for combination therapy and treatment-naïve patients, as well as the concurrently advancing overseas Phase II clinical trial;

  • Secondly, advance the commercialization and industrialization construction of AHB-137 to lay the foundation for its smooth market launch in the future and benefit hepatitis B patients worldwide.

  • Third, the company will continue to expand its innovative pipeline R&D, strengthen the construction of professional teams both in China and overseas, and accumulate core technologies and talent resources for long-term development.

Dr. Guozheng Cheng, Co-founder and CEO of AusperBio"We are greatly honored to once again receive the trust and support of both new and existing investors. Between 2024 and 2025, AusperBio successfully completed four rounds of financing consecutively. This not only demonstrates the capital market's high recognition of the company’s innovative capabilities but also confirms the commercial potential of AHB-137. Standing at this significant milestone, we will spare no effort to advance the Phase III clinical trial of AHB-137 with high quality and efficiency, while continuing to accelerate the clinical development of multiple innovative oligonucleotide drugs with targeted delivery. Our goal is to meet critical unaddressed medical needs as soon as possible."

Dr. Chengyong Yang, Co-founder and CSO of AusperBioStated: "AHB-137 can efficiently achieve the leap from obtaining Phase I IND approval to Phase III clinical trials, which would not have been possible without the firm support of our investment institutions for the company’s strategy. Previously, clinical data on AHB-137 has been repeatedly presented in breakthrough abstract form at international academic conferences such as EASL and AASLD, drawing widespread attention and in-depth discussion within the academic community. Looking ahead, we will continue to explore more potential of AHB-137 and drive scientific breakthroughs through innovative strategies of combination therapies with multiple mechanisms, leveraging science to advance innovation in the small nucleic acid industry."
