Gelonghui September 26 | According to CNBC, Swiss pharmaceutical giant Roche is advancing late-stage clinical trials for its experimental weight-loss drug, aiming to become one of the top three weight-loss drug companies globally. Roche CEO Teresa Graham recently emphasized her commitment to this goal at a business day event in London, stating that the company knows how to enter new markets. Currently, Roche does not have any weight-loss drugs on the market, but Graham mentioned that the goal is to launch the relevant treatment before 2030. Barclays pharmaceutical analyst Yihan Li noted that Roche’s ambition to break into the top three in the weight-loss drug market holds potential feasibility, given the company's extensive assets related to weight management. However, Li pointed out that next year will be a critical year for the release of relevant data. More importantly, the current weight-loss drug market is binary, and it remains unclear how large the gap is between Novo Nordisk and Eli Lilly.
