Recently, Shanghai Active Technology Co., Ltd. (hereinafter "Active Technology") announced the completion of a RMB 464 million Angel+ round.

The round was co-led by Gaorong Ventures, SSCILF and Shanghai Science & Technology Investment Co., Ltd., with Kangjun Capital, China Internet Investment Fund, Guotai Haitong, Pudong Venture Capital, Shanghai Sci-Tech Innovation Fund, GPHL Capital, Minjin Investment and Yunqi Partners participating, and existing shareholders Daotong Investment, BGI Songhe and Inno Angel Fund increasing their investments.

Following the RMB 330 million angel round announced on August 3, Active Technology won support from both new and existing investors again in less than three months, bringing cumulative financing across the two rounds to around RMB 800 million.

According to financing information publicly disclosed so far, this round is the largest Angel+ round in China's brain-computer interface field, and the combined amount of the angel round and the Angel+ round also sets a record for cumulative angel-stage financing in the domestic BCI field.

The financing will support the company's continued R&D, clinical translation and industrialization of invasive brain-computer interfaces, and create conditions for further expanding industrial cooperation.

Deepening Full-Chain R&D to Advance Brain-Computer Interfaces Toward Clinical Application

Founded in February 2026, Active Technology focuses on R&D and industrialization of invasive brain-computer interface technology. Guided by clinical needs, the company has built full-chain in-house R&D capabilities spanning flexible electrodes, application-specific chips, algorithms and system integration, and has established a product matrix covering motor, visual and affective brain-computer interfaces.

Among them, Tianshu, the core motor BCI product, targets motor and speech dysfunction caused by stroke, spinal cord injury and ALS, aiming to help patients rebuild motor function and their ability to interact with the outside world. In November 2025, the 1,024-channel invasive BCI system developed by the company's core team obtained a type inspection report, laying the foundation for subsequent clinical research and product translation. The visual and affective BCI product lines are being advanced in parallel, drawing on the team's research accumulation in the relevant fields to extend the technology to applications addressing different clinical needs.

Looking ahead, Active Technology will continue to advance core technology R&D and clinical translation across its three product lines of motor, visual and affective BCI, improve its R&D, production and quality management systems, and keep strengthening engineering and industrialization capabilities. While focusing on Class III medical devices and serving patient needs, the company will also explore the convergence of BCI with artificial intelligence, embodied intelligence and other fields, so that technological innovation benefits a broader range of users.
