VCBeat has learned that Good Mood, a leading digital mental health service provider in China, has closed a new funding round of nearly RMB 300 million. The round drew investors including Imeik, CCMC, Wuxi Binhu Industrial Investment Development Group, Shandong Development, and Unifuture Capital.
The company had previously completed six rounds, backed by more than 20 institutions including ByteDance, CITIC Medical Fund, Jiangsu Nhwa Pharmaceutical, Fosun Health, 6 Dimensions Capital, and KIP. With this round, its shareholder base has grown to nearly 30 institutions and companies, spanning technology, healthcare, professional investment, and local industrial capital.
The proceeds will be used mainly for AI product development and application, the buildout of a mental health service system, and international business expansion.
In terms of business layout, Good Mood is no longer limited to a single model of psychological counseling or online medical services; it has gradually built a business system spanning internet hospitals, offline chain psychological clinics and hospitals, mental health services for government and enterprise clients, digital and AI technologies, and clinical research.
Its core model is built on professional medical services, connecting a large-scale network of mental health specialists, online internet medical services, and offline medical institutions, while also partnering with enterprises, insurers, and pharmaceutical companies — covering prevention, screening, psychological counseling, diagnosis and treatment, therapy, follow-up, and long-term health management.
This model also reflects a shift under way in the digital mental health industry — competition is moving from early-stage traffic acquisition, online counseling, and physician connections toward service delivery capability, physician efficiency, online-offline integration, and long-term patient management.
AI is emerging as an important variable in this shift.
As large model technologies have advanced rapidly over the past two years, Good Mood is extending AI from point tools to the entire mental health care workflow; its applications now cover assisted assessment and triage, clinical decision support, physician workflows, patient management, follow-up, and long-term health management.
Rather than emphasizing AI technology itself, Good Mood focuses on how AI improves actual service efficiency — reducing physicians' repetitive work, raising the capacity of each physician, improving patient stratification and service matching, and strengthening the continuity of long-term patient management.
For mental health care, whether AI ultimately delivers real value will increasingly need to be validated through care efficiency and clinical outcomes — including triage accuracy, physician efficiency, treatment adherence, follow-up rates, symptom improvement, and changes in unit service cost.
Globally, the competitive focus of digital mental health companies is shifting in a similar way. Representative players such as Spring Health, Lyra Health, Talkiatry, Grow Therapy, and Headway are all extending beyond standalone counseling or online services toward AI assistance, professional care delivery, physician networks, insurance payment, and long-term patient management.
This trend means that AI's value in mental health is shifting from "having the technology" to "improving care efficiency and clinical outcomes." Whether a company can raise physician capacity, improve patient matching and adherence, and build a sustainable care delivery system is becoming a new competitive dimension for the industry.
From this perspective, Good Mood's development path is highly consistent with how leading global digital mental health companies are evolving. At the same time, Good Mood has already established internet hospitals, a large-scale mental health specialist network, offline chain clinics and hospitals, mental health services for government and enterprise clients, insurance partnerships, and clinical research, forming an integrated online-offline mental health service system. This comprehensive layout — covering technology, medical services, payers, and clinical research — also makes it a representative sample for observing the development of China's digital mental health industry.
Internationalization has been a key direction for Good Mood over the past two years. Since 2025, the company has provided mental health services to users in other Asian countries, and it plans to further expand into European and North American markets, advancing the globalization and localization of its products and services and building service networks together with local medical institutions and partners.
After this round, what to watch at Good Mood is not only its AI technology itself, but whether it can keep improving care efficiency through AI and further scale and internationalize its established physician network, integrated online-offline service system, and business model.
