Recently, Signet Therapeutics (Shenzhen) Co., Ltd. has successfully been approved for the 2025 Guangdong-Macau Joint Science and Technology Innovation Funding Project, receivingRMB 1 millionProject funding, used to support “Preclinical Study of Novel FAK Inhibitor SIGX1094R as Monotherapy and in Combination Therapy for Triple-Negative Breast Cancer”。

The Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Joint Funding Project for Scientific and Technological Innovation, jointly initiated by the Guangdong Provincial Department of Science and Technology and the Macao Science and Technology Development Fund, focuses on cutting-edge technology fields. It aims to promote collaborative innovation and key technology breakthroughs between Guangdong and Macao. The program has a rigorous evaluation process and offers substantial support (each party provides funding of 1 million RMB or an equivalent amount in Macao pataca).
The Australian partner team for this joint funding is the Sun Heng/Deng Chuxia team from the University of Macau. The Deng Chuxia/Sun Heng team are pioneers in the construction of in vivo and in vitro models of breast cancer and mechanistic research, and have discoveredThe Founding Mechanism of BRCA1 Gene in Breast Cancer, opening a new direction for the treatment of triple-negative breast cancer,His research work has been cited over 90,000 times., is a highly cited scientist representative.
SIGX1094R is the core pipeline independently developed by Signet Therapeutics based on the world's first "Organoid+AI" platform. This drug is the world’s first targeted therapy for diffuse gastric cancer and the first dual-target FAK/SRC inhibitor to enter clinical trials globally. In addition to treating diffuse gastric cancer and advanced ascites, SIGX1094R has also shown potential in treating malignant metastatic cancers such as triple-negative breast cancer, ovarian cancer, and pancreatic cancer. In August 2025, the drug was nominated for the Galien Award (Prix Galien USA), known as the "Nobel Prize of the pharmaceutical industry," making Signet Therapeutics the only Chinese biopharmaceutical company on the list this year.
SIGX1094R has received IND approval from the U.S. FDA and China NMPA, and has successively obtained Orphan Drug Designation (ODD) and Fast Track Designation (FTD) from the U.S. FDA. A Phase I clinical trial was initiated in December 2024 at Peking University Cancer Hospital, where it demonstrated good safety and preliminary anti-tumor activity during the dose-escalation phase of the trial.
