On September 25, 2025, the 2025 World Design Capital Conference (WDCC2025) opened in Shanghai. The conference was jointly organized by the Shanghai Municipal People's Government and UNESCO, and hosted by units such as the Shanghai Station of China Media Group. Gong Zheng, Deputy Secretary of the Shanghai Municipal Committee and Mayor of Shanghai, and Xing Bo, Deputy Director of China Media Group, attended the event and delivered speeches.
