Gelonghui October 11 | According to the Wall Street Journal citing informed sources, Johnson & Johnson is in talks with biopharmaceutical company Protagonist Therapeutics regarding an acquisition. Johnson & Johnson is currently collaborating with Protagonist to develop treatments for immune diseases. Protagonist is also working with Takeda Pharmaceutical on the development of Rusfertide, a drug for treating rare blood cancers. If the deal goes through, it will help Johnson & Johnson strengthen its product pipeline as its key immunotherapy drug, Stelara, faces competition from lower-priced generic drugs.
