M&A Integration, Ecosystem Collaboration, Capital Injection—Since the beginning of this year, a pan-vascular intervention company has made three strategic moves to continuously advance and deepen its platformization, ecosystem development, and internationalization.
Recently, Kossel Medtech (Suzhou) Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Kossel") has completed a C-round financing of RMB 400 million. This round of financing was co-led by SCGC and Kinghall Ventures, with participation from Frontier Investment, Chuangjing Capital, and others. Existing shareholders, including Su Venture Capital (National Social Security Fund), SND Financial Holdings, Suzhou New District Hi-Tech Industrial Co., Ltd., and Youyin Ventures, continued to make substantial oversubscriptions. Xiqiao Capital served as the financial advisor for this round. The funds raised will be primarily used to expand production capacity, advance the R&D and global registration of core products in peripheral intervention, coronary intervention, and cardiac electrophysiology, and deepen the company’s strategic layout toward platformization, ecosystem development, and internationalization in the pan-vascular intervention field.
Founded in 2013, Kossel is a nationally recognized “Little Giant” enterprise specializing in sophisticated and innovative technologies. Committed to becoming a globally leading platform-based company in pan-vascular interventional devices, Kossel aims to make Chinese innovations accessible to patients worldwide. Starting with domestically produced vena cava filters, the company has adopted a dual-drive strategy of “independent innovation + ecosystem integration.” It has established a platform-based layout featuring the synergistic development of four major segments: peripheral vascular, coronary, electrophysiology, and core raw materials. The company holds over 300 domestic and international invention patents and has obtained nearly 100 registration certificates both in China and overseas.
Since the beginning of this year, Kossel has completed strategic M&A deals involving Baiquantong Medical and XinZhi Medical, further strengthening its platform capabilities in pan-vascular intervention. Among these, the intravascular ultrasound (IVUS) technology brought by Baiquantong Medical completes the company’s diagnostic and therapeutic closed loop from imaging assessment to precision treatment; while XinZhi Medical’s drug-coated balloons featuring dual technological routes—rapamycin and paclitaxel—further reinforce the company’s layout in the coronary “intervention without implantation” sector.
In terms of industry consolidation, the company has recently formed strategic partnerships with InnoMed and Silvan Medical to further advance the development of its overseas ecosystem.Through mutually beneficial collaboration with InnoMed, Kossel has become the exclusive overseas general distributor for the Python DCB peripheral drug-coated balloon, while simultaneously promoting technical cooperation to strengthen the "one-stop" diagnosis and treatment system for peripheral interventions; through a strong alliance with Silvan Medical, Kossel has secured exclusive overseas commercialization rights for the Clothoid vascular suturing device, concurrently advancing proprietary certificate registration and technology licensing to further perfect the full-process solution for vascular interventional surgeries. Meanwhile, Kossel’s platform capabilities continue to gain recognition from global industry leaders, with strategic partnerships established with Abbott and Medtronic. These collaborations will drive deeper synergies across product R&D, joint clinical development, and market expansion, enabling mutual empowerment between Chinese innovation and global resources.
From M&A to integration, Kossel has continuously extended the capability boundaries of its platform-based enterprise from internal R&D to external collaboration.
The realization of a platform-based layout is built upon sustained, substantial R&D investment.
Since its establishment, Kossel has consistently adhered to clinical demand-oriented innovative R&D, with cumulative R&D investments nearing RMB 300 million over the past three years, resulting in innovative products Domestic Octoparms Umbrella-shaped Long-acting Inferior Vena Cava Filter®, breaking the long-standing monopoly of imported products in the field of pulmonary embolism prevention and treatment. Since its market launch in 2021, this product has won bids in multiple centralized procurement programs due to its clinical advantages, including high stability, extended retrieval window, and ease of removal. Consequently, its market share for domestic long-term vena cava filters has risen to number one. Leveraging its continuously improving portfolio of peripheral interventional products, Kossel has grown into a leading enterprise in China’s peripheral interventional sector.
In terms of building a collaborative platform integrating industry, academia, research, healthcare, and engineering, Kossel has established Jiangsu Provincial Engineering Technology Research Center, Enterprise Technology Center, and continuously expand the boundaries of cooperation. The company has established partnerships with leading universities, including Nanjing University, Southeast University, and Sichuan University, leveraging joint laboratories and R&D centers to deepen research into foundational pan-vascular interventional technologies and accelerate the translation of cutting-edge innovations into clinically accessible solutions.
Leveraging its robust capabilities in independent innovation and ecosystem synergy, Kossel has also undertaken National and provincial/municipal major scientific and technological research tasks, including the MIIT’s “Open Competition” initiative for biomaterials, integrating corporate development into the national technological breakthrough system, directly address common industry "chokepoint" challenges, and continuously strengthening the industrial foundation for the autonomy and controllability of domestically produced medical devices.
The “Electrode Lead Introducer Sheath Set (K-Sheath),” developed by the company in collaboration with the team of Professors Huang Weijian and Su Lan from the First Affiliated Hospital of Wenzhou Medical University, provides a critical dedicated access tool for their pioneering left bundle branch pacing technique, and has been selected as a “Recommended Product of New and High-Quality Domestic Medical Devices in the Yangtze River Delta.”
Kossel is steadily advancing “Local Base, Global Reach” Globalization Strategy. In 2021, the company acquired Micell Technologies, Inc. (Ireland), marking a key step in its global expansion strategy. Currently, Kossel’s overseas distribution network covers more than 20 countries and regions, while manufacturing centers in Europe and Southeast Asia are accelerating the development of its global commercial network.
The injection of capital from this funding round will further deepen Kossel’s overseas localization strategy, propelling its international business into a new phase of scaled and systematic development. This move will continuously reinforce Kossel’s platform value as the “infrastructure” for Chinese medical device innovation going global, leveraging a synergistic “product + channel” model to help more innovative Chinese medical devices enter the global market.
With clear clinical demands and mature application scenarios, coupled with sustained opportunities for domestic substitution and technological upgrades, China’s pan-vascular intervention industry is accelerating into a phase of scaled commercialization, becoming one of the value sectors favored by long-term capital. As of July 2026, more than twenty financing events have occurred in this field. Amidst this wave, Kossel, leveraging its platform-based, ecosystem-oriented, and internationalized strategy, has continued to refine its “One Core, Three Wings” layout and expand its global network with the boost from its Series C financing, steadily advancing toward becoming a leader in the industry ecosystem.
