Recently, the cardiac electrophysiology team of Professor Xie Yun from Putuo People's Hospital, Tongji University, successfully applied RhythPulse.®Atrial Fibrillation Patient Successfully Treated with Pulsed Field Ablation Catheter in China’s First Clinical Application of RhythPulse®. The successful completion of this procedure marks a higher level of interventional treatment in the field of cardiology, offering atrial fibrillation patients a safer and more efficient treatment option.
Patient Information
This case involves an elderly male patient who has long been troubled by atrial fibrillation. Traditional drug treatments have proven ineffective, and the repeated episodes of atrial fibrillation have severely impacted his quality of life. The electrophysiology team led by Professor Xie Yun from the Cardiology Department of Putuo People's Hospital, Tongji University, conducted a thorough analysis and multidisciplinary discussion to evaluate the case. They decided to use the latest Pulse Field Ablation (PFA) technology to perform atrial fibrillation surgery on the patient.

Preoperative 3D CT Reconstruction of Left Atrium and Pulmonary Veins
Surgical Procedure
The surgery was performed under local anesthesia. After routine vascular puncture, the atrial septal puncture sheath was advanced via the inferior vena cava to the right atrium, and the atrial septum (anterior and inferior) was punctured to reach the left atrium, establishing the ablation channel. ShineyoMedical's RhythPulse was used.® The 15mm pulsed ablation catheter performed left atrial modeling and substrate mapping under the support of a 3D system.

During the surgery, a 15mm catheter was used for bilateral PVI + roof substrate modification. A total of 45 sets of ablations were performed in the left atrium (with 5 applications per set), and the ablation procedure was successfully completed. The surgery was performed under local anesthesia, with the patient remaining fully conscious throughout, showing good tolerance, and experiencing no adverse reactions. The patient returned safely to the ward after the operation.

Expert Greetings
Pulsed Field Ablation is the latest technology for catheter ablation of atrial fibrillation, with reliable neural and vascular safety as well as non-inferior effectiveness compared to traditional RF, which has been confirmed by numerous clinical trials. RhythPulse, produced in China by ShineyoMedical.® -PFA system, with a rich selection of catheter loop diameters to accommodate the anatomical structures of different patients.Patients can still tolerate the procedure under local anesthesia.,One application can cover the pulmonary vein, with fast operation speed, high isolation efficiency, and greater effectiveness and safety.
Expert Reminder
Atrial fibrillation is one of the most common arrhythmia diseases, which can easily lead to stroke and heart failure. Early diagnosis and early intervention are crucial. If symptoms such as palpitations, shortness of breath, and fatigue occur, it is necessary to seek medical attention promptly for diagnosis and treatment.

【ShineyoMedical RhythPulse®-PFA System】
ShineyoMedical's RhythPulse®-PFA System is the first approved Pulse Field Ablation (PFA) system in China that integrates multi-channel, large focal points, and targeted ablation. It is mainly used to treat rapid arrhythmias such as drug-refractory and recurrent atrial fibrillation. Its core advantages include:
Large Focal Design:Using the world's first 10mm ring ablation catheter, a single discharge can cover a lesion area with a diameter of 10mm, increasing the ablation efficiency more than three times compared to traditional technology.
Targeted Ablation Technology:Equipped with an intelligent contact detection module, it monitors the contact status between the electrode and myocardial tissue in real time, reducing the risk of hemolysis caused by ineffective discharge. Postoperative plasma free hemoglobin content decreased by 50%.
Excellent Clinical Validation:In a clinical trial involving 151 cases, the immediate success rate was 100%, and the success rate for atrial fibrillation treatment at 12 months post-operation reached 85.07%, achieving internationally leading standards.
