From August 21 to 22, the 11th Northwest Region Conference on Gynecologic Oncology and the 18th Western Region Academic Conference on Minimally Invasive Gynecologic Techniques were held in Lanzhou, Gansu Province. The conference brought together numerous renowned experts and scholars in the fields of gynecologic oncology and minimally invasive surgery from across China. In-depth discussions focused on standardized diagnosis and treatment protocols for gynecologic malignancies, cutting-edge concepts in minimally invasive techniques, and the clinical implementation of new diagnostic and therapeutic technologies. As a significant academic platform for the gynecology community in the Northwest and Western regions, the conference further strengthened consensus on regional disciplinary development and established an efficient forum for advancing the continuous improvement of gynecologic oncology care.
In recent years, with the continuous evolution of concepts in the diagnosis and treatment of gynecologic oncology, clinical therapeutic goals have gradually shifted from a sole focus on tumor resection to a balanced emphasis on tumor control, functional preservation, and improvement of quality of life. Correspondingly, minimally invasive gynecologic surgery has been advancing toward greater refinement and precision. During the conference, numerous authoritative experts in the field, drawing from their frontline clinical experience, shared comprehensive management strategies and the latest research findings for cervical cancer, endometrial cancer, and ovarian malignancies. The congress featured multiple engaging academic discussions centered on hot topics such as anatomical challenges in minimally invasive gynecologic surgery, techniques for complex procedures, and clinical quality control. Integrating cutting-edge research advances with extensive practical experience, the experts explored surgical strategies and technical details from multiple perspectives, offering professional and profound insights to enhance regional capabilities in the diagnosis and treatment of gynecologic tumors.
The discussion delved from treatment strategies into surgical details, further highlighting the practical need for upgrading minimally invasive gynecological techniques. The deep pelvic cavity offers limited working space and complex tissue layers. Certain tumor resections also involve extensive excision, lymph node dissection, and delicate suturing, thereby placing high demands on the surgeon’s anatomical identification skills, precision in instrument control, and ability to operate from multiple angles. This also means that the “minimally” in minimally invasive surgery should not be reflected solely in the size of the incision, but should be implemented in tissue protection and every critical maneuver.
Addressing these demands for precision maneuvers, the Cornerstone Robotics Sentire® Surgical Robot System provides technical support across three dimensions: visual presentation, haptic feedback, and instrument design. The integrated dual-optical-path endoscope delivers a clear, stable, high-definition 3D view, assisting surgeons in identifying tissue layers in deep surgical fields. The “Smart Direct-Drive” system ensures smooth and nuanced responses to operational commands. Its unique 5mm flexible wristed instruments further enhance maneuverability within deep and confined surgical spaces. The synergy of these technologies offers robust assistance to physicians performing delicate dissection, tissue separation, and suturing/reconstruction, thereby advancing complex minimally invasive gynecological surgeries toward greater precision and refinement.
Leveraging its superior product performance and reliable system capabilities, Sentire® has achieved routine clinical adoption across multiple key specialties, including gynecology and urology. It has demonstrated trustworthy stability and precision in numerous complex and challenging surgeries, earning consistent recognition from clinical experts at many hospitals. Sentire® continues to deliver high-quality minimally invasive treatment experiences to a growing number of patients with gynecologic tumors.
During the conference, Cornerstone Robotics set up a hands-on demonstration area on-site, attracting numerous attending experts to experience its technology. Through direct operation, the experts gained close-up insights into the system’s high-definition 3D visualization and flexible maneuverability, and engaged in discussions on the application of robot-assisted surgery in gynecologic oncology. The on-site exchanges, ranging from the operational characteristics of specific surgical procedures to the clinical needs in complex pelvic surgeries, further deepened the mutual understanding between medical professionals and engineers regarding the development direction of minimally invasive gynecologic techniques, creating favorable opportunities for forging closer ties between new technologies and clinical practice.
Guided by clinical questions and driven by real-world needs, Cornerstone Robotics remains committed to advancing technological innovation and clinical application. In the future, Cornerstone Robotics will continue to engage deeply with frontline gynecological practice, collaborating with experts and peers to explore the deep integration of robotic technology with minimally invasive gynecological diagnosis and treatment. By empowering complex surgical procedures with more precise and flexible technologies, we aim to continuously inject innovative momentum into the advancement of minimally invasive diagnosis and treatment for gynecological tumors in China.
