On October 17, 2025, Hansoh Pharma announced that it had licensed the global rights outside of Greater China for its investigational CDH17-targeted antibody-drug conjugate (ADC), HS-20110, to Roche.
According to the agreement, Roche will pay Hansoh Pharma an upfront payment of $80 million, along with up to $1.45 billion in clinical development, regulatory, and sales milestone payments, plus tiered royalties based on future net sales. The total potential value of this deal reaches $1.53 billion, marking another significant case of China's ADC sector going global. HS-20110 is currently in global Phase I clinical trials, targeting CDH17 (cadherin 17), an emerging oncology target. CDH17 is highly expressed in gastrointestinal cancers (such as gastric cancer, colorectal cancer, and pancreatic cancer) while its expression in normal tissues is limited, making it one of the most promising targets for ADC drug development following HER2 and Claudin18.2. Currently, the global competition for CDH17-targeting ADCs is intensifying, with Chinese companies showing a notable leading advantage in this field. As of October 2025, there are nine CDH17-targeting ADC drugs globally that have entered clinical or IND stages, all developed by Chinese companies, including Puzhong Discovery, Hansoh Pharma, Connaught Biologics, Yilian Biotechnology, Lepu Biopharma, Simcere Pharmaceutical, Huadong Medicine, Mabwell, and Limin Pharmaceuticals. Notably, recent overseas developments in the CDH17 ADC space have been frequent. Following Lepu Biopharma’s out-licensing of its CDH17 ADC project to an overseas company, Hansoh Pharma’s collaboration with Roche further highlights the global leadership and international development capabilities of Chinese enterprises in targeting CDH17. Hansoh Pharma has accumulated extensive experience in ADC exports, having successfully licensed multiple ADC drugs to multinational pharmaceutical companies, including: B7H3 ADC (HS-20093) licensed to GlaxoSmithKline (GSK); B7H4 ADC (HS-20089) also licensed to GSK; and now CDH17 ADC (HS-20110) licensed to Roche. These deals not only reflect Hansoh Pharma's comprehensive strength in ADC technology platforms and pipeline layout but also demonstrate the recognition by global pharmaceutical giants of the R&D capabilities of innovative Chinese drugmakers. As China-produced ADCs increasingly mature in target selection, molecular design, and clinical development strategies, Chinese companies are gradually transforming from followers into key participants in global innovative drug development.
