The research team visited Varian Medical Systems China Co., Ltd. and Synaptic Medical Technology (Beijing) Co., Ltd., to learn about the research, development, production, operation, and use of medical devices. They also held a legislative symposium, gathering opinions and suggestions from regulatory bodies such as the Beijing Municipal Drug Administration and the Beijing Market Supervision Comprehensive Law Enforcement Corps, as well as enterprises and medical institutions. In-depth discussions were conducted on further improving the legal system for medical device regulation, strengthening whole-life-cycle quality and safety supervision, and promoting high-quality industrial development and high-level safety.
The research group pointed out that medical devices are related to the life and health of the people, as well as public safety and national security. The legislation for the management of medical devices must adhere to the requirements of scientific legislation, democratic legislation, and legislative compliance. It should be problem-oriented, maintain an international perspective, uphold reform and innovation, further improve the quality of legislation, and promote the implementation of the law.
