The core of this adjustment lies in the integration of the sales team. AstraZeneca will focus on two cornerstone products in the respiratory inhalation field.——Symbicort and Breztri Sales Teams Merge. This decision is based on the similarity in pharmacological mechanisms of the two drugs and the high degree of commonality in market promotion strategies. It aims to strengthen collaborative capabilities through team integration, accelerate penetration into broader markets, and pave the way for the approval of new indications for existing products and the launch of future products, solidifying competitive advantages in the respiratory inhalation field.
Team integration and synchronization drive personnel changes; the appointment of the new management team has been officially announced. Tong Qinjie, Assistant Vice President of AstraZeneca China and Head of the Respiratory Inhalation Business Unit, announced the relevant arrangements to employees:
- Zhong Ying, the current Central Market Director of Symbicort, will leave AstraZeneca China to seek external development opportunities. Her last working day is2025Year10Month20Day;
- Yu Junping, currently the Executive Director of Symbicort East Region, has been appointed as the Executive Director of Symbicort Central Marketing Department;
- Wang Chengfeng, currently serving as the (acting) Sales Director of Beizherui East Region, has been appointed as the Head of Sales Operations for Respiratory Inhalation.
- Yu Junping and Wang Chengfeng both report directly to Tong Qijie. In addition, the appointments of regional sales directors for the Respiratory Inhalation Business Unit have also been finalized.
As AstraZeneca's core product in the respiratory field, Symbicort and Breztri have long held significant market positions.
