Dr. Huang Ying has over 20 years of industry experience, spanning biotechnology R&D, corporate strategy, capital markets, and business management.
Prior to joining K2, he served as Chief Executive Officer and a member of the Board of Directors at Legend Biotech, where he helped lead the global development and commercialization of innovative cell therapies, including CARVYKTI® (ciltacabtagene autoleucel). This product was among the first to achieve commercial success in the United States after originating from China, with annual sales exceeding $2 billion.
Under his leadership, Legend Biotech has gradually grown into a fully integrated global biopharmaceutical company with an end-to-end value chain spanning R&D, GMP manufacturing, and commercial operations, employing over 3,000 people.
Prior to joining Legend Biotech, Dr. Huang Ying served as the Head of Biotechnology Equity Research at Bank of America Merrill Lynch and was a top-tier biotechnology equity research analyst in the industry.
His career began in the field of pharmaceutical R&D. He holds a Ph.D. in Bioorganic Chemistry from Columbia University and previously studied at the Special Class for the Gifted Young of the University of Science and Technology of China, as well as at Columbia Business School.
