10 Days Countdown to the Opening of the 8th CIIE on October 25

On October 25, the eighth China International Import Expo (CIIE) entered the 10-day countdown to its opening. Many exhibits that will make their debut, first exhibition, or premiere were unveiled in advance.

The reporter of The Paper (www.thepaper.cn) learned from the CIIE Bureau and the Medical Devices and Healthcare Products Exhibition Area of the 8th China International Import Expo (hereinafter referred to as the "Medical Exhibition Area") that the exhibition area will focus on the theme of "Healthy China, Better Life". It will gather top global medical technology forces to showcase cutting-edge breakthroughs in innovative drug and device R&D, biopharmaceutical technology, cross-disciplinary digital diagnosis and treatment, and jointly promote the development of new medical productivity to support the implementation of the "Healthy China 2030" strategy.

The new generation thrombolytic drug Metolase (Tenecteplase for Injection) that will be showcased at the Boehringer Ingelheim booth during the 8th CIIE is used to treat acute ischemic stroke (AIS) within 4.5 hours of symptom onset.

At this year's CIIE, Boehringer Ingelheim will present three innovative drugs that have received "Breakthrough Therapy Designation," covering major disease areas such as lung cancer, pulmonary fibrosis, and metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis (MASH). Among them, the next-generation thrombolytic drug Metalyse (Tenecteplase for Injection) is used to treat acute ischemic stroke (AIS) within 4.5 hours of symptom onset; the innovative lung cancer drug Cynthea (Zongletinib Tablets) is the world’s first and currently the only approved oral HER2 tyrosine kinase inhibitor, used for treating unresectable locally advanced or metastatic non-small cell lung cancer (NSCLC) with HER2 (ERBB2) activating mutations who have previously received at least one systemic therapy; the pulmonary fibrosis treatment Brekovi (Namilivir Tablets), which was just approved in China this month, is the first new therapy for adult idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis approved in the past decade, and its second indication for treating adult progressive pulmonary fibrosis is currently under priority review. Additionally, the investigational new therapy Survodutide has received "Breakthrough Therapy Designation" from the National Medical Products Administration, offering potential new treatment options for patients with obesity and metabolic dysfunction-associated steatohepatitis (MASH).

Johnson & Johnson's CEREGLIDE™ 71 Distal Access Catheter, debuted in Asia at this year's CIIE

Johnson & Johnson's CEREGLIDE™ 71 Distal Access Catheter, debuted in Asia at this year's CIIE, is an access catheter designed for various neurovascular-related diseases. With its high navigability, kink resistance, and enhanced durability, the catheter can reach up to the M1-M2 segments of the brain, facilitating rapid access establishment and saving critical treatment time for stroke patients.

Medtronic to Showcase the World's First Closed-Loop Rechargeable Spinal Cord Neurostimulation System In-ceptiv

Medtronic will showcase the world's first closed-loop rechargeable spinal cord neurostimulation system, In-ceptiv, which was named one of the most groundbreaking innovations of 2024 by TIME Magazine and won the 2025 Edison Award for "Chronic Disease Treatment Solutions." This sleek and compact system can "listen to the body's signals," sensing changes in spinal biomarkers during different movements and automatically adjusting stimulation in real time to help chronic pain patients achieve a more consistent solution.

Siemens Healthineers to Unveil Three New Devices of the "Photon-Counting CT Family" for the First Time in Asia

Siemens Healthineers will unveil three new devices from its "Photon Counting CT Family" for the first time in Asia. These devices achieve a spatial resolution of up to 110 micrometers, reduce radiation dose by over 90% compared to traditional CTs, and support multi-material separation spectral imaging, promising revolutionary breakthroughs. The product provides technical support for early tumor screening, clinical diagnosis and treatment of severe diseases such as cardiovascular and cerebrovascular conditions, as well as cutting-edge technologies like brain-computer interfaces and bio-nano probes.

Gore, a "new face" participating in the CIIE for the first time this year, will introduce the EXCC, an active control system for abdominal aortic endovascular stent grafts.

Gore, a "new face" participating in the CIIE for the first time this year, will introduce the EXCC (Expandable Custom Conformable Endovascular Stent Graft System). The EXCC can achieve lasting sealing in shorter aneurysm necks, thereby extending the anatomical indications of the proximal neck to aneurysm neck length of 10mm and a maximum angulation of 90°, offering a safe and effective new treatment option for patients with "adverse necks" that are difficult to treat with traditional EVAR.
