On July 6, 2026, BriSTAR Immunotech (Beijing) Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as “BriSTAR Immunotech”) announced the completion of its Series C financing round, raising over RMB 200 million. The round was led by Loyal Valley Capital, with Fudan Sci-Tech Innovation Fund participating as a co-investor.

This round of financing will be primarily used to advance the registrational clinical development of YTS109, the core product of the universal STAR-T platform; accelerate the construction of the in vivo STAR-T technology platform; and establish a commercialization infrastructure along with a global intellectual property portfolio.

Following the completion of this financing round, BriSTAR Immunotech will further strengthen its innovative advantages in the field of next-generation cell therapy, accelerating the clinical application of safer, more effective, and more accessible cell therapy products.

Accelerating the Industrialization of Next-Generation Cell Therapies

BriSTAR Immunotech was founded in 2018 by Professor Lin Xin, a globally renowned immunologist, tenured professor at Tsinghua University, and leading scientist at the Changping National Laboratory. The company focuses on the research, development, and translation of its STAR-T technology and universal site-specific integration technology platform. Targeting major unmet clinical needs in oncology and severe autoimmune diseases, BriSTAR Immunotech is dedicated to developing innovative cell therapy products that combine efficacy, safety, and accessibility.

As a long-term value investor in China, Lead Investor Fangzheng Xingu Capital continuously focuses on biopharmaceutical companies with source innovation capabilities and global competitive potential; Fudan Sci-Tech Innovation leverages Fudan University’s profound scientific research and industrial resources to actively promote the transformation of original technological achievements. This investment not only reflects the capital market’s recognition of BriSTAR Immunotech’s technological innovation capabilities and industrialization prospects but will also provide sustained support for the company’s future development.

Since its inception, BriSTAR Immunotech has continuously refined its R&D system and enhanced its industrialization capabilities, establishing a comprehensive innovation chain that spans basic research, process development, clinical translation, and manufacturing. The company has secured cumulative financing exceeding RMB 500 million, with its R&D prowess and product pipeline progress gaining widespread industry recognition.

Continuous Validation of Clinical Data Value

In recent years, the cell therapy industry has entered a phase of rapid development. With the continuous expansion of the global market and the accelerated strategic positioning by large multinational pharmaceutical companies, cell therapy has become one of the most innovative and dynamic sectors in the biopharmaceutical field. However, traditional autologous cell therapies commonly face challenges such as lengthy manufacturing cycles, high production costs, and limitations in scalability. Consequently, universal (off-the-shelf) cell therapy and in vivo in situ cell therapy have emerged as key areas for breakthroughs in the global industry.

Leveraging original scientific research achievements from Tsinghua University and the Changping National Laboratory, BriSTAR Immunotech has establishedSTAR-T Technology Platform, Universal Site-Specific Integration Technology Platform, and In Vivo STAR-T Technology Platform, establishing a comprehensive technological framework that covers both current-generation and next-generation cell therapies. Currently, the company has developed a pipeline of more than ten innovative products spanning hematologic malignancies, solid tumors, and autoimmune diseases, and has obtained two Investigational New Drug (IND) approvals for clinical trials in China as well as one Orphan Drug Designation from the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA).

Among them,STAR-T TechnologyBy innovatively integrating the antigen-recognition advantages of CARs with the natural signal transduction mechanisms of TCRs, STAR-T retains high-efficiency antigen recognition while exhibiting low basal activation mediated by native TCR signaling, thereby effectively reducing the risk of non-specific, antigen-independent activation. Meanwhile, STAR-T demonstrates higher antigen-recognition sensitivity, more thorough target cell clearance, and enhanced tissue infiltration capabilities, showing promising application potential in complex disease contexts such as solid tumors and autoimmune diseases. Related fundamental research findings have been published in subsidiary journals of Science and Cell.

supportingUniversal Site-Specific Integration Technology PlatformBy employing gene editing and site-specific integration strategies, this approach enables precise insertion of exogenous genes at designated loci, thereby avoiding the genomic insertion risks associated with traditional lentiviral random integration and further enhancing product safety and consistency. Building on this foundation, the platform facilitates standardized production and large-scale manufacturing of cell therapy products, which is expected to significantly reduce production costs and improve treatment accessibility. Compared to traditional personalized preparation models, this technology offers greater potential for industrialization and commercialization, providing critical support for the large-scale application of cell therapies.

Leveraging the aforementioned core technology platform, BriSTAR Immunotech has developed YTS109, a universal STAR-T product targeting CD19, and has taken the lead in focusing on clinical research in the field of severe autoimmune diseases. The related research findings have been published in the prestigious international medical journal Nature Medicine.

At the recent 2026 European Alliance of Associations for Rheumatology (EULAR) Congress, the company announced interim clinical results of YTS109 for the treatment of various severe autoimmune diseases. The data demonstrated positive efficacy and a favorable safety profile in indications such as systemic lupus erythematosus, lupus nephritis, and autoimmune hemolytic anemia, laying a solid foundation for subsequent registrational clinical development.

Deploying the In Vivo STAR-T Platform

While advancing its mature product pipeline into the clinical development stage, BriSTAR Immunotech is actively laying out its next-generation cell therapy technology platform—In vivo STAR-T

Built on the mature STAR-T core architecture and integrating proprietary technologies such as in vivo delivery and in situ cell modification, this platform enables direct T-cell engineering within patients, eliminating the need for peripheral blood collection, ex vivo cell culture, or expansion. Leveraging the inherent safety advantages of natural TCR signal-mediated activation, the STAR-T platform primarily targets specific T-cell populations, thereby reducing the risk of off-target editing. Furthermore, its high-sensitivity antigen recognition, robust tissue infiltration, and superior functional persistence make it an ideal technological platform for the development of in vivo cell therapies.

Compared with traditional cell therapy models, in vivo STAR-T is expected to significantly streamline the treatment process, shorten the treatment cycle, and reduce overall costs, thereby further enhancing the accessibility and coverage of cell therapies and driving the evolution of cell therapy from an “ex vivo manufacturing” model to an “in vivo generation” model. Currently, the company is continuously advancing related technology development and validation efforts to actively build long-term technological barriers.

Continuously Promoting the Popularization of Cell Therapy

Dr. Zhao Xueqiang, CEO of BriSTAR Immunotech, stated: “We extend our gratitude to Loyal Valley Capital and Fudan Sci-Tech Innovation for their trust and support in BriSTAR Immunotech.
