Xinhua Finance, Beijing, October 31 (Reporter Li Ke) — On the 29th, the 2025 High-Quality Development Forum for the Silver Economy and the Chengdu Annual Conference on Elderly Health Development, themed "Technology Empowering Senior Living," was held in Chengdu. HenanSunnyou MedicalChairman He Yongzheng of Xiangyu Medical Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Sunnyou") revealed in a keynote speech that in 2022, attracted by Chengdu's excellent business environment and investment promotion policies, the company’s R&D center and intelligent manufacturing demonstration base established in Wenjiang District would soon open, further expanding into the rehabilitation medical market under the silver economy.

He Yongzheng stated that the global brain-computer interface market is accelerating its growth. According to data from the international market research firm IMARC Group, since 2019, the scale of this market has been increasing year by year, and it is expected to reach 3.3 billion US dollars by 2027, with an annual compound growth rate of approximately 13.5%. The domestic market in China is growing even more rapidly. Data from the China Center for Information Industry Development shows that by 2024, the scale of China's brain-computer interface market has reached 3.2 billion yuan, with an annual growth rate of 18.8%. It is expected to exceed 3.8 billion yuan in 2025 and surpass 5.5 billion yuan by 2027, maintaining an average annual growth rate of around 20%.

The Potential Market Space for Medical Applications of Brain-Computer Interface in China is Huge. Currently, there is a huge demand for rehabilitation related to stroke patients, spinal cord injury patients, traumatic brain injury patients, Parkinson's disease patients, Alzheimer's disease patients, and dysphagia patients in China. In addition, patient groups with language disorders, anxiety and depression, attention deficit, etc., also have an urgent need for rehabilitation solutions. Brain-computer interface technology will bring new hope for rehabilitation to these groups.

He Yongzheng mentioned that brain-computer interface is a communication system that connects the brain directly with a computer or other external devices without relying on muscles and peripheral nerves. According to Hebb's learning rule, the synergy between brain-computer interfaces and rehabilitation equipment can improve cortical activation patterns and functional reorganization processes in stroke patients, thereby achieving targeted intervention at the neural circuit level. The core mechanism lies in constructing a closed-loop neural regulation system of "intention decoding-motor output-sensory feedback."

As a leading enterprise in the rehabilitation medical device industry, Sunnyou established the Sun-BCI Lab brain science laboratory as early as 2015. The lab integrates five major platforms: Sun Link, Sun Dip, Sun Brain, Sun Live, and Sun BME, covering the entire chain of brain signal acquisition, decoding algorithms, multimodal interaction, and application. According to He Yongzheng, the company has now become one of the enterprises with the most extensive application scenarios for the commercialization of brain-computer interface technology in China. Its self-developed EEG acquisition devices can be seamlessly connected with its own rehabilitation equipment, significantly improving clinical success rates compared to the industry’s combination model of "brain-computer interface + third-party devices."

In the integration of brain-computer interface technology with specific indications, Sunnyou Medical consistently adheres to a "clinical demand-oriented" research and development approach. While advancing technological breakthroughs, the company places greater emphasis on deep collaboration with clinical experts from hospital departments such as rehabilitation, neurology, mental health, and stroke centers, ensuring that its products precisely address clinical pain points.

It is reported that this forum was hosted by China Economic Information Service and China Aging Industry Association, and supported by China Health Management Association, China Rehabilitation Assistive Devices Association, Guanghua School of Management Peking University, and Sichuan Medical Association. The forum was organized by Sichuan Economic Research Center of China Economic Information Service, Chengdu Silver Economy Industry Alliance, and China.Industrial and Commercial Bank of ChinaSponsored by the Sichuan Branch of the company. In the future, Chengdu will continue to build the "Silver Economy Forum" IP, gathering industry resources and wisdom to provide "Chengdu solutions" and "Chengdu wisdom" for the high-quality development of China's silver economy.
