Shanghai Pharmaceuticals (601607.SH) Announces Approval of Tofacitinib Citrate Extended-Release Tablets for Production

Intelligent Finance APP, Shanghai Pharmaceuticals Holding Co., Ltd. (601607.SH) announced recently that its subsidiary, Shanghai SPH Zhongxi Pharmaceutical Co., Ltd. ("SPH Zhongxi"), has received the "Drug Registration Certificate" (Certificate No.: 2025S03257) issued by the National Medical Products Administration for its Tofacitinib Citrate Extended-Release Tablets, which have been approved for production.

Tofacitinib Citrate Extended-Release Tablets are used for the treatment of rheumatoid arthritis, psoriatic arthritis, and ankylosing spondylitis. It was first developed by Pfizer and launched in the United States in 2016. In January 2024, SPH Zhongxi submitted a registration application for this drug to the National Medical Products Administration (NMPA) in China, which has been accepted. As of the announcement date, Shanghai Pharmaceuticals Holding Co., Ltd. has invested approximately RMB 19.4192 million in research and development for this drug.
