Recently, the Cardiology Department of Yangpu Hospital, affiliated with Tongji University in Shanghai, under the leadership of Director Zhou Yimeng, with the collaboration of Director Chen Nannan, Teacher Yang Chuanxi, the Anesthesiology Department, and the medical team, successfully applied the domestically produced ShineyoMedical RhythPulse.®-PFA Pulsed Field Ablation System was used to perform a Pulsed Field Ablation (PFA) procedure on a patient with atrial fibrillation. This procedure is part of the first batch of clinical applications of the RhythPulse® PFA system in China. The application of this new technology not only provides a new treatment option for patients with atrial fibrillation but also advances the development of interventional therapies for arrhythmias. Patient Information
This case involves a middle-aged male patient who has long been troubled by atrial fibrillation. Traditional drug treatments have not been effective, and the repeated episodes of atrial fibrillation have severely impacted his quality of life. The electrophysiology team led by Professor Chen Nannan from the Cardiology Department of Yangpu Hospital, affiliated with Tongji University in Shanghai, conducted a thorough analysis and multidisciplinary discussion to evaluate the case. They decided to use the latest Pulse Field Ablation (PFA) technology to perform atrial fibrillation surgery on the patient.

Surgical Procedure
PFA surgery was performed under general anesthesia. The patient was placed in the supine position, followed by routine disinfection and draping. The puncture site was locally anesthetized with 2% lidocaine. The right femoral vein was punctured twice successively to place the coronary sinus electrode. After successful transseptal puncture, heparin was administered for systemic heparinization. ShineyoMedical's RhythPulse was selected.®25mm Butterfly Pulsed Field Ablation Catheter: During the entire surgery, only 21 sets (each set with 5 discharges) of ablation were performed, taking only 31 minutes. Complete isolation of 100% of the four pulmonary veins was achieved, and pacing verification confirmed bidirectional conduction block in both sides of the pulmonary veins. The operation lasted only 31 minutes, with no complications throughout, and the surgery was successfully completed.
