Recently,The Second Affiliated Hospital of Zhengzhou UniversityAs one of the first clinical application units in China, byDirector of Cardiology Sun Liqiang and Attending Physician Zhao JiajiaApplication of AccuPulse Medical®Single-use Cardiac Pulse Electric Field Ablation Catheter and AccuBlator®The cardiac pulsed electric field ablation system successfully performed a pulsed field ablation (PFA) procedure on a patient with atrial fibrillation.
The successful completion of the surgery not only marks the official entry of this innovative domestically-produced PFA system into the clinical application stage, but also, with its three core advantages of integrated circular catheter mapping and modeling, efficient ablation, and excellent safety, provides a better option for atrial fibrillation interventional treatment.
Case Brief
The patient is a 57-year-old male with paroxysmal atrial fibrillation. Based on preoperative examinations, the AccuPulse 20-25mm adjustable loop cardiac pulsed field ablation catheter was selected. Its integrated design for mapping, modeling, and ablation enabled the operator to quickly complete three-dimensional left atrial modeling and mapping in just 15 minutes, with a total pulmonary vein ablation time of only 17.15 seconds, significantly enhancing the safety of the procedure.

Atrial Premature Excitation Mapping

Upper Cavity Pulse Ablation Diagram
The ablation process first targets the origin of premature atrial contractions in the left inferior pulmonary vein, followed by consolidation ablation of the left pulmonary vein. After 6 rounds of ablation, the premature atrial contractions disappeared. Then, 6 more rounds of consolidation ablation were performed, followed by pulmonary vein isolation ablation.

ECG Comparison Before and After Ablation
Postoperative substrate mapping, pulmonary vein potential recording, and other comprehensive evaluation results showed that complete electrical isolation of the pulmonary veins was achieved, and bidirectional conduction block was firmly established. High-frequency burst stimulation performed postoperatively did not induce any sustained arrhythmias, strongly demonstrating that the AccuPulse PFA system not only achieved immediate successful ablation but also effectively reduced the risk of atrial fibrillation recurrence in patients.
Expert Commentary

The team highly recognized the comprehensive performance of AccuPulse’s adjustable ring PFA catheter, specifically pointing out that the adjustable ring design has a wider range of use, can adapt to more complex anatomical structures, and offers higher ablation efficiency with excellent clinical applicability.
The operator further shared their personal experience: the catheter itself is an excellent product with a short learning curve and easy to handle. The complete success of this surgery marks that the significant advantages of AccuPulse’s PFA adjustable loop catheter in operational flexibility and efficient ablation have gained deep recognition from clinical experts, laying a solid foundation for its widespread application in the field of atrial fibrillation treatment.
About AccuPulse Cardiac Pulse Ablation System
Flexible Adaptation, Precise Contact:Its unique 7.5F adjustable loop diameter design can flexibly match the pulmonary vein anatomy of different patients, achieving personalized adaptation and significantly improving the adaptability and safety of the operation.
Intelligent docking, real-time feedback:The system is equipped with AccuPulse's self-developed impedance contact prompting technology, which can monitor the catheter-tissue contact quality in real time, clearly indicate the contact status, assist operators in achieving stable and reliable catheter manipulation, and provide a solid guarantee for precise ablation.
Efficient Integration, Streamlined Processes:The circular catheter integrates mapping, modeling, and ablation functions, rapidly constructing a three-dimensional electroanatomical model of the heart during surgery, precisely locating lesions, and significantly reducing reliance on additional high-density mapping catheters in traditional surgeries. This not only decreases surgical complexity but also saves on consumable costs, providing atrial fibrillation patients with a safer, more effective, and less invasive treatment option.
Safer:7.5F Ultra-thin Catheter, Reducing Tissue Damage
More Stable:Smart Snap Tips for More Precise Operation
More flexible:Adjustable loop diameter (15-20mm or 20-25mm) to meet different clinical choices.
