Reporters learned from the Sixth Session held on November 27thWaigaoqiaoIt was learned at the Medical and Health Cooperation Forum that Waigaoqiao has officially launched the "Brain-Computer Interface Innovation Development Partnership Program" and simultaneously released the "Waigaoqiao Brain-Computer Interface Product Service Package." By applying an industrial selection logic of "doing what is appropriate and refraining from what is not," they are proactively positioning themselves in the brain-computer interface niche market.
Reporters learned that the goal of the Partner Program is to unite companies, hospitals, and government departments to jointly build a collaborative innovation ecosystem, addressing bottlenecks in the clinical transformation, cross-border data flow, and market access of brain-computer interface technology. The first batch of companies to join the Partner Program includes StairMed, Shenfu Jianxing, Ximang Medical, Qiongding Medical, and Waigaoqiao Biomedical Company.
StairMed is currently an important innovative force in the field of brain-computer interface in China. The relevant person in charge introduced: "We have launched the world's smallest brain-controlled implant, with the entire device being only as large as a coin. The flexible electrode at the front end is thinner than one-hundredth the thickness of a hair, capable of achieving millisecond-level neural signal acquisition and control with a delay of less than 50 milliseconds. More importantly, the company has basically achieved independent control of core components and is moving towards full-chain localization in China."
When talking about why they chose Waigaoqiao, the company introduced that it is not just an industrial park here, but more like a "systematic partner" who truly understands how technology companies grow. "Waigaoqiao has given us very systematic support in terms of policy interpretation, compliance consulting, government liaison, and market access. For many policies' timeframes, key points in registration and access, the Waigaoqiao team will remind us in advance and help us sort things out, saving us from taking many detours."
Companies joining the partnership program will receive relevant services from the "Waigaoqiao Brain-Computer Interface Product Service Package," including full-chain support from cross-border R&D pilots, expedited clinical approvals, to market entry abroad, providing effective assistance to innovative enterprises. Companies in this first batch can also enjoy additional benefits such as discounted spatial support provided by the Waigaoqiao Group and guidance on related industrial policies.
Brain-computer interface is a typical interdisciplinary field, and its development highly relies on the combination of medical and engineering expertise, cross-border research and development, and international cooperation. This is precisely where Waigaoqiao's multiple strategic advantages overlap: "We have the policy function of bonded R&D, a pivotal position connecting the domestic and international markets in China, and the institutional opening-up potential brought by the Oriental Hub International Business Cooperation Zone under construction, such as cross-border data flow and convenient personnel entry and exit. We hope to secure an early position through the 'Partnership Program,' building full-chain service capabilities from R&D, clinical trials, and registration to overseas expansion, forming industrial cluster effects, and seizing the high ground of future industries," introduced the relevant person in charge of Waigaoqiao.
