Recently, SiranBio announced the completion of its Pre-A round of investment. SiranBio focuses on the development of a technology platform for small nucleic acid drugs, the R&D of innovative drug varieties, and the industrial application of drug delivery technologies. The funds obtained from this round will help accelerate the preclinical and clinical development of its core technologies and promote its future commercialization process.

First Product Approved for Clinical Trials: A Challenge Towards Functional Cure of Hepatitis B

In October 2025, SA1211 Injection, filed by SiranBio, received clinical trial approval from the CDE for the intended development to treat chronic hepatitis B. SA1211 is the world's first dual-target siRNA capable of simultaneously targeting the HBx gene of the hepatitis B virus and the PD-L1 gene in hepatocytes, as well as the first single-molecule dual-target siRNA candidate drug globally to enter clinical trials. Chronic hepatitis B virus (HBV) infection represents one of the major disease challenges worldwide. Current first-line antiviral drugs used in clinical practice, including nucleos(t)ide analogs and interferons, struggle to achieve functional cure of chronic hepatitis B (CHB), which means eliminating the viral infection without viral rebound. SiranBio’s dual-target strategy demonstrated promising efficacy in preclinical animal studies, with no rebound after treatment cessation, offering hope for achieving a functional cure in human clinical trials. On November 25, 2025, SA1211 successfully completed its first dosing at the First Hospital of Jilin University, marking the official entry of this innovative drug into the clinical development stage.
