Recently, SANEGENEBIO announced the completion of a Series B financing round exceeding 110 million US dollars. This round was led by a well-known industry organization, with participation from an international sovereign fund, China Biologic Products Group, Legend Capital, Vivo Capital, Invus, SymBiosis, Suzhou Venture Capital, Zhenmai Investment, and Lake Bleu Capital. Additionally, strategic investment was provided by Eli Lilly and Company. Existing shareholders, including Gaoling Venture Capital, Qiming Venture Partners, Xianfeng Qiyun, TF Capital, Oriza Holdings, and Northern Light Venture Capital, continued their support.

Since its establishment in 2021, SANEGENEBIO has been committed to developing first-in-class/best-in-class RNAi therapies targeting the liver and extrahepatic tissues based on its proprietary RNAi drug discovery platform. Leveraging this platform, the company has built a diversified pipeline covering different therapeutic areas such as autoimmune diseases, cardiovascular diseases, metabolic disorders, and obesity, with multiple candidates already entering clinical stages. The successful completion of this Series B financing will strongly advance the clinical development and global expansion of the company’s ongoing and planned pipelines, further enabling SANEGENEBIO to achieve continuous breakthroughs in the RNAi field.

"The completion of Series B financing is an important milestone in the company's development process," said Dr. Wang Weimin, founder and CEO of SANEGENEBIO. The support from several global top-tier investment institutions not only reflects trust and recognition of the company’s R&D capabilities and corporate vision but also injects critical resources for its long-term growth. SANEGENEBIO has always been committed to expanding the application boundaries of RNAi technology through continuous innovation to address unmet clinical needs worldwide. Moving forward, the company will fully advance the global late-stage clinical development of its drug candidates while leveraging the LEAD™ platform to push more transformative drug candidates into the clinical stage.

Last month, SANEGENEBIO announced a global R&D collaboration and licensing agreement with Eli Lilly and Company. Both parties will jointly advance the development of RNAi drug candidates for metabolic diseases based on SANEGENEBIO's proprietary LEAD™ platform. Under the terms of the agreement, SANEGENEBIO will receive an upfront payment and equity investment as near-term compensation. Additionally, SANEGENEBIO is eligible to receive up to $1.2 billion in potential milestone payments related to development, regulatory, and commercial sales, as well as tiered royalties on commercial sales.
