Novo Nordisk Completes Acquisition of Akero Therapeutics

Novo Nordisk announced on December 9 that it has completed the acquisition of biopharmaceutical company Akero Therapeutics. Novo Nordisk acquired all outstanding common shares and equivalents of Akero for $54 per share in cash (total value of $4.7 billion) and a non-transferable contingent value right (CVR).

After the transaction is completed, Akero will become a wholly-owned subsidiary of Novo Nordisk. Akero's common stock will no longer be traded on the NASDAQ Global Select Market.
