The 31st Annual Meeting of the International Society for Mechanical Circulatory Support (ISMCS 2025)InViennaSuccessfully concluded, the forefront technologies, clinical practices, and standardized discussions in the global Mechanical Circulatory Support (MCS) field once again gathered together. Cardiovascular experts, clinical researchers, and innovative enterprises from around the world jointly presented the latest advancements in the MCS treatment system.

This year, magAssist showcased its innovative multi-scenario MCS achievements based on a unified control platform at several key sessions of the conference, including MoyoAssist.®Extra VAD, NyokAssist®Percutaneous short-term ventricular assist device (pVAD), along with the engineering logic behind it, clinical application experience, and thoughts on internationalization strategies. The technical consistency and cross-scenario scalability reflected in its platform-based product system have drawn significant attention from international peers.

MoyoAssist®【1】Clinical Evidence Accumulation and Contextual Application: The Verifiable Value of Short-Term Circulatory Support

Union Hospital, Tongji Medical College, Huazhong University of Science and TechnologyProfessor Chen ShuPresentation on "The Latest Advances in China's Extracorporeal Ventricular Assist Devices" was delivered at the conference, with its latest data and practical usage experience providing new evidence from China to the field of international short-term circulatory support. As an extracorporeal ventricular assist device with full magnetic levitation approved by NMPA, MoyoAssist®The technical design and clinical performance are derived from a deep understanding of clinical needs.

More Stable: Fully Magnetic Levitation Drive and Multi-Scenario Adaptability

MoyoAssist®AdoptFully Magnetically Levitated Blood PumpDesign, through flow field optimization,Effectively Reduces the Risk of Hemolysis and Thrombosis——Experimental data shows that its in vitro hemolytic performance is comparable to international counterparts. The system has good anti-vibration and continuous operational stability, making it suitable for use in the ICU, operating room, and during patient transfer. The main unit weighs 8kg, with a battery life of ≥2 hours, and it features an IPX4 waterproof rating to meet the demands of real clinical environments.

Dual Validation of Clinical Prospective Studies and Real-World Data: Robust Survival Outcomes

Data from a 40-case prospective multicenter clinical trial for MoyoAssist®Provides solid support for its clinical value, and the research results show:

  • The 30-day survival rate of enrolled patients reached 62.5%;

  • Among them, the survival rate of the post-cardiac surgery cardiogenic shock (PCCS) subgroup was 75%, and the survival rate of the bridge-to-transplant (BTT) subgroup was 70%.

  • No severe device-related complications occurred during the entire trial period, and patients with successful BTT showed a significant trend of postoperative liver function improvement.

The real-world application after market launch further demonstrated MoyoAssist®Cross-scenario flexibility: Its applications have covered various clinical scenarios requiring extracorporeal mechanical circulatory support, such as bridge-to-transplant and myocarditis recovery bridging. Data shows,A total of 74% of patients successfully weaned off the ventilator.`, and the majority of cases utilize a minimally invasive percutaneous implantation approach, which not only reduces surgical trauma but also helps patients recover more quickly. The dual validation from prospective trials and real-world data has further solidified the credibility of MoyoAssist.`®In the global short-term VAD treatment system, it has gradually become a "Chinese solution" with important reference value.

NyokAssist®【2】——Evidence of Circulatory Support for High-Risk PCI Based on Multicenter RCT Clinical Results

Zhongshan Hospital, Fudan UniversityDr. Rui WangShared at the conference: "SAVE-PCI: NyokAssist®A Comparative Study of Small-sized VAD and IABP in Elective High-risk PCI". This is one of the few pVAD RCT studies led by a Chinese team internationally, following...TCT Conference Late Breaking Heavyweight ReleaseAfterward, it once again sparked widespread discussion in the MCS academic community.

Engineering Balance Between Minimal Invasiveness and Ample Flow

NyokAssist®The core design lies in achieving an optimal balance between minimally invasive properties and blood flow support efficiency: adopting9Fr Small-Size Access + Foldable Impeller Structure, while reducing the risk of vascular-related complications, it is able to provide stable blood flow support that meets the demands of PCI procedures with extremely low hemolysis. The external motor design simplifies the implantation and removal processes, enhancing the convenience of clinical operations.

236 RCT Studies: Clinical Benefits Validation for High-Risk PCI Patients

This 1:1 randomized controlled trial, which enrolled 236 patients undergoing elective high-risk PCI, showed that, compared with IABP:

  • NyokAssist®The group of patients had better intraoperative hemodynamic stability;

  • The 30-day incidence of major adverse cardiovascular and cerebrovascular events (MACCE) showed no significant difference compared to the IABP group.

  • No hemolysis, severe bleeding, or serious vascular complications were reported during the entire study period.

This study, with its rigorous trial design and sufficient sample size, provides a new evidence-based option for circulatory support in high-risk PCI patients globally.
