At the recently held Pudong Innovation and Entrepreneurship Conference, a number of high-quality overseas projects were established in Pudong. The "Pudong Innovation and Entrepreneurship Two-way Launch Service" and the "Pudong Technology Manager Training Program" completed their signings, while the "Pudong New Area Youth Innovation Safeguarding Plan" was launched. Awards such as "The Most Investment-Potential Enterprise of the Year," "Pudong Innovation and Entrepreneurship Star," and "Outstanding Youth Innovation Incubator" were announced. Additionally, 2 Shanghai High-Quality Incubators and 5 Large Enterprise Open Innovation Centers (GOI) were granted plaques.

"Innovation Seeds" Thrive in Pudong

"Since the 14th Five-Year Plan, Pudong has seen a continuous emergence of innovative achievements. The atmosphere for innovation and entrepreneurship is strong and diverse, with batches of 'innovation seeds' flourishing in Pudong, providing robust support for opening new tracks and fostering new drivers of growth. For instance, ten enterprises, including ShineyoMedical, have stood out with their outstanding scientific and technological innovation capabilities, earning the title of 'Most Investment-Potential Enterprises' in Pudong New Area for the year 2025."

This year, SHINERHYTHM Cardiac Pulse Field Ablation System and RHYTHPULSE Single-Use Cardiac Pulse Field Ablation Catheter, the innovative products independently developed by ShineyoMedical, have obtained the Class III medical device registration certificate issued by the National Medical Products Administration. With the launch of these two products, ShineyoMedical has also achieved two breakthroughs in China – "the first large focal ablation catheter in China" and "the first unilateral targeted ablation catheter in China," filling the technical gap in the field of cardiac pulse field ablation in China.

"We currently have more than 10 products under development, and we expect new products to be approved for marketing in the first quarter of next year. In the municipal and district finals of the 2025 "Innovate·In Shanghai" International Innovation and Entrepreneurship Competition, numerous Pudong enterprises from fields such as biomedicine, integrated circuits, and artificial intelligence showcased their strong capabilities. Companies like Chuanzhou Semiconductor Technology (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. were awarded second and third prizes in the municipal finals, while four companies, including Shanghai NK Cell Technology Co., Ltd., won first prizes in the finals for biomedicine and next-generation information technology industries in the Pudong New Area. These enterprises are all "promising stocks" in new competitive arenas.

For instance, Shanghai EnCay Cell Technology Co., Ltd. focuses on the research and development of innovative technologies for immune cell therapy, aiming to achieve the scaled production of "living," manipulatable synthetic NK cell drugs. The company has already developed over 10 world-first NK cell drugs across three major categories, reaching an internationally leading technical level. "We chose Pudong because here we can access comprehensive resource support across the entire industrial chain. When the foundation is solid enough, it accelerates the birth of innovation," said Wang Ting, Vice President of R&D at Shanghai EnCay Cell Technology Co., Ltd.

From the source layout of basic research to the enhancement of industrial cluster capabilities, Pudong strengthens its foundation through main player cultivation and stimulates vitality by optimizing the ecosystem, injecting powerful momentum into the region's high-quality development.

"The Qingchuang Navigation Plan of Pudong New Area" will focus on the entire process needs of young entrepreneurs from start-up to growth, carefully construct six functional modules, and create an empowerment ecosystem covering key aspects such as space, funding, competitions, overseas expansion, and talent, fully supporting the realization and thriving of young people's dreams.

Representatives of five outstanding overseas projects from the United States, Russia, and the United Kingdom, along with representatives of their respective hosting entities in Pudong, signed agreements collectively. The District Science Promotion Center, together with representatives of two newly established overseas incubation platforms, two partners bridging overseas resources, and two institutions providing specialized outbound services, signed agreements to jointly offer professional support for technology enterprises expanding internationally.

As a representative of an overseas project that has landed in Pudong, Evgeni Terekhin, CEO of Veya Technology (Shanghai) Co., Ltd. from Russia, highly praised Pudong's innovation environment: "Pudong has many policies that support technology and also very professional teams, all of which are important factors that attracted us to establish here. In the future, I will also recommend Chinese companies to come to Pudong."

The District Science Promotion Center and the Eastern Center of the National Technology Transfer Talent Training Base will jointly launch the Pudong Technology Manager Cultivation Program, aiming to train 100 technology managers within three years. The program encourages personnel from Pudong incubation carriers to participate in the training and strengthen the team building of technology managers.
