Industry-Academia-Research Stakeholders Gather in China's Rehabilitation Equipment Hub to Discuss Industrial Development and Launch Innovative BCI Products

Xinhua News Agency (Reporter Xiao Yanqing) -- On December 20, the 8th "Belt and Road" Central China Rehabilitation Medicine Forum and the 10th Rehabilitation Equipment Expo opened in Anyang, Henan, known as the "Capital of Rehabilitation Equipment in China." The conference featured a main comprehensive rehabilitation forum along with over 30 specialized sub-forums including neurorehabilitation, traditional Chinese medicine rehabilitation, and pediatric rehabilitation. Nearly 3,000 rehabilitation medicine experts, academicians, scholars, corporate representatives, and investment professionals gathered to explore new trends and opportunities in the rehabilitation healthcare industry.

At the opening ceremony, representatives from multiple sectors, including government, industry, academia, and research, gathered. Heads of national industry organizations such as the China Assistive Devices Association, the China Medical Equipment Association, and the Chinese Rehabilitation Medical Association successively delivered speeches, pointing out the path for high-quality development of the rehabilitation medical industry from perspectives such as industry standards, technological innovation, and industrial chain collaboration.

Notably, as a leading enterprise in China's rehabilitation medical equipment industry, Xiangyu Medical Co., Ltd. (Sunnyou) in Henan ProvinceSunnyou MedicalXiangyu Medical Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to as "Sunnyou") released 14 innovative brain-computer interface products at this conference, comprehensively covering multiple rehabilitation scenarios such as motor function treatment, physical factor intervention, and daily living activity training, forming a full-chain product ecosystem from "acquisition-control-scenario-algorithm."

Sunnyou Medical also took the lead in forming the "Brain-Computer Interface Rehabilitation Technology Innovation Consortium." At the meeting, seven hospitals officially joined this consortium.

At the conference site, Anyang City, Hebi City, Puyang City, Xinxiang City, Kaifeng City, Handan City, and Changzhi City signed a strategic cooperation framework agreement to deepen cooperation and synergistically develop the regional intelligent health care industry in terms of resource sharing, technical collaboration, industrial linkage, and talent exchange.

In addition, at the conference site, the 2025 Anyang City Intelligent Rehabilitation Equipment Industry Chain Investment Promotion Signing Ceremony was successfully held. The new book *Clinical Rehabilitation Integration under the Background of Medical and Rehabilitation Convergence*, edited by Wang Jiening, Lian Bin, and He Yongzheng, was officially released.

The 10th Rehabilitation Equipment Expo, held concurrently, brought together multiple companies from upstream and downstream of the industry chain, showcasing thousands of cutting-edge rehabilitation products and technologies. Intelligent and integrated rehabilitation solutions garnered significant attention. Sunnyou's exhibited Brain-Computer Interface (BCI) ecosystem product system attracted numerous experts, buyers, and investors to experience it. Additionally, rehabilitation equipment covering specialties such as neurological rehabilitation, traditional Chinese medicine rehabilitation, and pediatric rehabilitation also saw strong demand.

Analysts point out that rehabilitative medicine is moving from a "marginal discipline" to a "clinical core," and rehabilitation equipment is also gradually shifting from "optional" to "essential." Driven by policy support, technological breakthroughs, and market demand, the rehabilitation healthcare industry has entered a period of rapid growth.
